Chapter 13 - ch 13

"Always focused on what front of you." Gobsung coughs a bit, the dust and strain of having to lift his upper body affecting his lungs. "Never could choose whether that good thing or not good thing. Until now." "Thanks for the assist! though you look terrible." Gabe's expression goes taut as he looks at the blade wounds. "Actually that might be putting it lightly. Don't worry, I'll get you patched up soon...hopefully." "Look out!" Hearing Gobsung's sudden urgent call out, Gabe instinctively ducked. A good thing too, as just over his head, a crescent of energy had flown past. The destructive arc continued on its path, slicing into a wall before dissipating. Three leaves fall to the ground as Gabe thinks to himself 'That was WAY to damn close!"

"You shouldn't turn your back on an enemy you know. That could get you killed." The hobgoblin leader trudges forward, the dust settling around his crash site. He spits out a phlegm of blood, likely from possible internal damage caused by the sound waves. "And you." He points the Great sword at Gobsung. "I have just about had it with you. You better pray our ancestors are more forgiving then I am." The leader raises the blade over his head, both hands tightly wrapped around the hilt. The great sword is then brought down, and with it, another energy slash.

Gobsung rolls to the side as the attack glides past his previous position. Grimacing in pain from his arms and feeling even more tired, the shaman is at least glad to still be alive, no matter how much it hurts. The leader goes for another slash, but before he could follow through, Gabe socks him in the nose. While the hobgoblin leader was disorientated from the strike, Gabe dashes over to Gobsung. Slinging the songful goblin over his back, he sprints behind one of the larger boulders. "Stay here. i'm gonna finish what I started." As Gabe was preparing to head back, Gobsung stopped him. "Fore you go, take boost." The goblin closes his eyes and hums a small tune.

🎶duna duna bada dang🎶 (a/n: three stones says you cant guess what I was referencing)

Gabe felt that his energy went up slightly. With a nod of appreciation, he heads back to confront the hobgoblin. The enrage tribe leader was facing away from him as he tried to locate where Gabe and the backstabber had went. Turning around, He immediately spots Gabe. "You!" The Goblin charges forward, mana enhanced slashes rushing ahead of him. Gabe slips through some of the slashes while getting cut as he closes in as well. The Hobgoblin leader to his knees. Huffing with exhaustion, Gabe moves closer to the fallen leader. Picking up the great sword, Gabe says "It must be irony to fall to your own blade."

The hobgoblin laughs as Gabe places his foot on the leader's chest. "That may be true, but I will die laughing knowing the truth." "And what would that be?" The hobgoblin's grin widens at the question. "While dreams can build a person up, they can also drive one to the point of shattering." And as if this response took the last of his sanity, he cackled as if he has heard the funniest thing in ages. The head soon separated from its body, the tool to do it dropped to the floor. "What a nutjob."

Gabe searches the area for a bit until he finds some cloth and a water pouch. Making it over to Gobsung, he pours the water and wraps the arms. "Now I know this isn't the best, but you gotta work with what's around. By the way, how did you put the other goblins to sleep?" Gobsung releases a sharp breath of air at the sudden contact of his wound, but explains nonetheless. "Use sleep mana into sap. very difficult, very tiring, very effective." "I'll say, these guys seem to be out cold." To prove his point, Gabe grabbed the hand of a goblin and used it to slap it in the face. The hand falls back to the floor, goblin still snoring.

"Leave Panbog, lets check throne room." Gabe helps Gobsung to his feet as he asks "What's in there?" "Something boss keep secret. might help you." As they enter, the duo can see that The hobgoblin leader was more gone than even in his last moments. The chair locks as if it had been hit repeatedly, chunks missing from it and white scratch marks plastered all over. Broken and knocked over jars liter the room, their contents long finished. "Overhear" Gabe turns to see that Gobsung was motioning towards the stone throne. "Push this. No doubt where hidden." Gabe applies force to the uncomfortable looking chair, the stone scraping across the cavern floor. Before Gabe's eyes laid two books, much to his surprise.
