Finally, as Achilleus said, after half an hour of walking, the team reached the shore of that certain Cannibal Island. As soon as all the hegins got off the ice floe, Benkó made it disappear and, as if he had just finished a long workout, he began to relax his limbs.
"Does anyone know how dangerous these nyiumgyis are to humans? Just because I don't know about you, but I would like to take a nap, because this night was terribly long." The Bokló boy yawned.
"If we weren't on Cannibal Island, we wouldn't have to be afraid of them. But here." Ajtony grimaced, when his best friend simply walked north along the shore.
"So, do you want to wait for the nyiumgyis there or are you coming?" Kamu asked, looking back at the team.
"Wasn't it that you don't know the place?" Alkekengi narrowed her eyes.
"Did I really say that? Who knows." The ghost-man spread his arms. "Are you coming?" He looked at his friend, who nodded and ran after him.
"How can a sword ghost be so alive?" Suk blinked after his relative, but he didn't even wait for an answer to the question as he started after the pair.
"Well, if they really have been evolving together since he became a sword ghost, then he could easily have collected enough kí to stay in human form for weeks, if not longer, before having to return to the sword to recharge." Razvan explained in a serious voice, as he also set off after the members of the Immortal Mist.
"I mean, he could really collect that much in a thousand years." Tele Tete also agreed, then he caught Alkekengi's hand and, not caring at all about the woman's whining, started after the others, only for the rest of the group to follow him.
"What the Fene, are these skeletons?" Achilleus shivered when the group reached a small bay where hundreds of bones were scattered in the sand.
"We're almost at a safe place." Kamu noted, but his words didn't exactly reassure the younger hegin.
"A safe place? With so many unburied dead?" Suk gasped in confusion.
"Ah, you don't have to be afraid of these ghosts. Not a single skull is intact. We crush them all before we throw them ashore." Explains the Ishán of the Immortal Mist with a wide grin on his face.
"What are we doing?" Ajtony suddenly grimaced and even stopped in surprise, then his eyes suddenly widened. "Oh!" The realization hit the poison-mixing ghost, then he turned grumpily towards his friend. _Why didn't you tell me that Cannibal Island is Trash Island?" Kamu questioned, and the ghost-man laughed.
"I thought you knew, idiot!" The oldest Teike present shook his head.
"So your little organization dumps the corpses it can't do anything with here?" Razvan asked the serious question, and Kamu started to grin.
"Of course. A simple and quick solution. The nyiumgyis will dispose of the corpses, and Floating Barracks will stay clean." The man waved a hand.
"What organization?" Tele Tete asked, frowning.
"The Immortal Mist, they are elite assassins." Alkekengi shrugged indifferently, which made the two Isháns look at her suspiciously.
"How do you know?" Came the cold question from Kamu, whereupon the danovus just shrugged her shoulders.
"You guys are fucking loud." The woman left it at that. "The nyiumgyis are fucking loud too. So we better make an effort, it'll be a matter of minutes before they're here." She also noted offhandedly, which made Kamu immediately turn around to lead the team on.
"It has to be here." He said out loud about two or three minutes later. "It is!" His eyes sparkled when he saw a hut among the trees. "After you!" He hurried over and opened the door, and the team marched into the dimly lit building. "It's not a big deal, but it's enough for what we need." Kamu shrugged.
"As long as the nyiumgyis don't eat me, I don't care." Benkó announced and then sat down in the farthest corner of the hut and pulled his headband over his eyes so he could sleep for a while. Kamu closed the door and locked it.
"Hey, Rahul! Do you happen to know where Dad is?" The ghost-man asked quietly, as everyone took a seat on the floor of the hut. A few followed Benkó's example and closed their eyes to get some sleep after the whole night's march.
"In most cases, I have no idea where the Fene the old man is going, he just comes and goes as he pleases and usually appears at the worst possible moments. Why?" Rahul gave the answer, then asked his question, but at first he only received a wave in response.
"Nothing special, I just wanted to ask him for advice regarding a couple of summoning circles." Kamu finally shrugged. "Whatever. Get some sleep. I don't know the interior of the island. We just throw the bodies on the shore. This house was here when we first came here. If we want to find the enterance to the sea, we have to be vigilant." The man explained to Razvan and Rahul, who nodded, then they also closed their eyes.
The small hut slowly fell silent. The hegins began to snore one after another. From beyond the walls, you could hear the roar of the sea, the occasional scurrying from the right or left, or the singing of birds, and here and there, soft "nyumgyi" sounds. Apart from these, this justly famous Cannibal Island was calm.
"Do you want an anti-danovus summoning circle, hegin?" Alkekengi's voice came so suddenly that if Kamu hadn't been a well-trained assassin, he might have screamed, but apart from a quick breath, he gave no sign that he was surprised.
"And if so?" He asked the question in a whisper.
"There's no point in trying. There's no summoning circle that a danovus can't hear through, even a shaman's circle only muffles the sounds, it doesn't make them disappear. Especially not from an old danovus like me." Alkekengi waved.
"When we get back to the Floating Barracks and you show me where the other protective circles are for the center, I'll draw them in." Teveli suddenly spoke up, opening one eye and looking at the talking pair. "As long as it's okay for the danovuses to hear the outside voices from within."
"I don't plan on bringing one in." Kamu shrugged.
"How do you know about such a summoning circle?" Suk asked, and Teveli smiled.
"When you were in detention, and we were with the danovuses, grandpa drew a protective summoning circle on the house where we were. Although he only said that no one would enter it except us, but the danovuses didn't hear anything we said inside. At least based on what Wandi said." Teveli explained.
"Okay, then when we're done, draw the summoning circle. But now it's time for sleep, young men, I don't want you to be tired. Now I'm going to sleep too." Kamu yawned.
"I'll be on guard." Alkekengi said indifferently and closed her eyes, as if she wanted to concentrate on what she was hearing. And so soon everyone in the hut fell asleep except the danovus woman.
