Chapter 203 - 203. Why cannibal?

"Cannibal Island?" Rahul asked in disbelief, but he only received a serious nod from the two assassins. "We wouldn't be us if we didn't have to go down the worst route." The chüvigh boy sighed.

"Even if we really want to go down through Cannibal Island, we still have to go back to the Floating Barracks. There's no sea route to Cannibal Island. We'll need a ship." Kamu explained, shaking his head, when someone snorted.

"Okay, I've had enough. You're traveling with me for the love of the ghosts. Mudbrain! Get to your feet!" Benkó grabbed Achilleus by the upper arm and started pulling him up off the ground. The Motumisz boy had to get the moon map after him so that it wouldn't stay on the sea route. "Show me where to go!" The Bokló boy announced as he stepped off the invisible sea path with noble simplicity and the water froze to ice under his feet.

"South-east, peeing boy!" Achilleus chuckled and stepped onto the ice next to his friend.

"What, haven't you seen ice yet?" Benkó asked with a grin as he looked back at the group staring at him with their mouths open.

"Can you keep a large area frozen that can accommodate all of us?" Razvan asked the serious question, which only achieved the Bokló boy to look at him with a cold look.

Benkó didn't speak, but instead of answering, the sea surface began to freeze, even the waves stopped. In a few moments, it seemed that the ice reached the horizon. Then, just as quickly as it froze, it melted again and only a small area remained frozen around Benkó.

"The smaller the surface, the longer I can hold it." The boy smiled contentedly. "So are you coming, or do you want to stay there?" He asked as he turned on his heel to set off into the distance. "Do you remember, mudbrain, how far we have to go?" He turned to Achilleus, not even caring whether the others followed him as he moved forward.

"Well, thanks to the ice, we can go straight, so." The Motumisz boy began, who meanwhile hid back in the map and even muttered under his breath, as if calculating, then looked up at the sky and nodded. "If we're lucky, we should be there by morning." He announced.

"Perfect, I can keep you up until then." Benkó grinned. "Push me if I'm going the wrong way." He nudged his companion in the side with his elbow.

"Anytime, peeing boy!" Achilleus chuckled as the pair headed towards the Cannibal Island. They walked in silence for a while, then the team members slowly started talking to each other as the sun set on the horizon to keep themselves awake. This was not the first night that any of the hegins had spent awake, so they knew how to chase away the dreams.

"Why is it called Cannibal Island anyway?" Suk asked in the hours after midnight, when common sense is usually lost for people.

"You'll find out when we get there." He received the cold answer from Kamu, before he just rolled his eyes.

"Hey! I was just wondering if we could run into a cannibal tribe, but thanks for the explanation." The Zovárd boy grumbled.

"No!" Ajtony cut in on what was not really meant to be a question.

"Ah, so a cannibal tribe used to live there." Suk started to nod.

"No!" The poison-mixing sword ghost grimaced.

"Okay, now I really don't understand. If there's no cannibal tribe on it now and there hasn't been for a long time, then why in Athira's linen underwear is it called Cannibal Island?" The Zovárd boy asked confused, then he turned to Razvan. "Sorry, boss." He pursed his lips into an awkward smile.

"It's not worth talking about." The leader of the Athamanas shrugged.

"Because a cannibal race lives on it." Ajtony sighed, which managed to divert Suk's attention again.

"Are you going to tell them, eh?" Kamu rolled his eyes and pulled his hood a little closer to his face.

"They'll find out sooner or later anyway. What's the point of keeping it a secret now? It's better if it doesn't come as a surprise to them." Ajtony looked at his old friend.

"We're not used to having to be honest with so many people." Kamu chuckled softly.

"Does that mean you'll tell us what's on that Cannibal Island?" Citar asked, turning on his heel and walking backwards to see the pair walking at the very back of the group.

"You're going to fall." Wandi noted next to him, whereupon the Bolacsuk boy just grinned as he looked at him.

"You'd let me get into trouble, wouldn't you?" He asked with sparkling eyes.

"Never!" Wandi gave the serious answer immediately, with a faint smile on his lips.

"Okay, stop this now before you make my stomach turn." Benkó spoke out loud.

"You're just jealous, peeing boy, you wish a girl would look at you the way Citar looks at Wandi." Achilleus patted the boy on the side.

"Do you want to go for a swim, you idiot?" Benkó looked at the Motumisz boy with a murderous look.

"Do you want to get lost?" Achilleus immediately countered.

"Boys, that's enough!" Teveli interrupted the pair. "So what's on that Cannibal Island?" The Tele boy asked, looking back over his shoulder, at his ancestor.

"Nyiumgyis." Ajtony and Kamu spoke at the same time. However, this only made Rahul stop and turn towards them with a grimace.

"Nyiumgyis are not cannibals." Rahul stated, a fact that was completely obvious to Westerners.

"Most of them really aren't." The leader of the Immortal Mist shrugged. "However, there is a giant nyiumgyi on that island that eats nyiumgyis." The man grimaced.

"Then we have nothing to fear. It doesn't eat humans." Benkó waved. "Hey!" Achilleus had just hit him in the side and he staggered.

"A little further south." The Motumisz boy announced without any other explanation, not even looking at his friend, instead staring at the moon map.

"Yeah, it doesn't eat humans until it sees humans." Kamu sighed. "According to our sources, it usually sleeps, but if it is woken up, the chances of you getting off the island alive are slim. Since the Mist has its headquarters in the Floating Barracks, I only know about three..." He thought about it, then shook his head. "No, I know of four people who got out alive. Although the fourth died on the ship on the way back to the Floating Barracks." The ghost-man noted.

"So that means we shouldn't wake up the big nyiumgyi. Child's play." Suk shrugged.

"As long as we don't go to the very center of the island, there shouldn't be any trouble. The survivors said the giant nyiumgyi say that it is there." Ajtony explained. "And that's Cannibal Island right there." The poison-mixing sword ghost pointed ahead.

"We're faster than you thought, mudbrain!" Benkó looked up at the sky. "At least another hour before the sun starts to rise."

"At least another hour before we get there. So I was punctual." Achilleus stuck out his tongue. "I can't wait to find out how accurate the moon map is. If it's as accurate as the one at home, I'll have to make a copy of it. Then, the next time we visit Master Mo in Chájna, I'll have to see what it shows there too. I'll have a ready-made map collection." The Motumisz boy began enthusiastically.

"You good spirits, you really went insane!" Benkó's desperate reaction came, which made the team laugh.
