Chapter 77 - 77. The Three Resonance

During class, Wang Feng couldn't hold himself back. He felt he had to fix the situation and apologize no matter what. Without thinking, he quietly called out the names of Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao from his seat.

"Wang Dong, Yuhao..." he whispered softly, his voice only audible to the two of them.

Wang Feng bowed his head deeply, his voice trembling with regret yet trying hard to sound calm.

"I... I'm really sorry about this morning," he whispered, his fingers clutching the edge of the desk tightly. "It was all my fault. I shouldn't have—"

Wang Dong, who was sitting in front of him, immediately cut him off with a sharp whispered voice: "Be quiet! Not now!" His ears were still red at the tips, showing just how hard he was trying to control his embarrassment.

But then Wang Dong suddenly froze, his mouth half-open, about to scold Wang Feng, stopped midway. Their eyes locked, and in an instant—

"What... what is this?" Wang Dong whispered, his voice suddenly turning soft.

Their chests both trembled at the same time, as if a warm current of energy was flowing between them. Wang Dong's anger melted away, replaced by a sense of intimacy that made his breath catch.

Wang Dong quickly turned his face away, struggling to suppress the wave of intimacy that made him want to hug Wang Feng. He leaned closer and whispered in an almost inaudible voice, "Did... we succeed?"

There was no anger in his tone anymore. Instead, there was a tremor of hope and uncertainty.

Wang Feng nodded slowly. He could feel the same pulsing energy — their powers resonating, as if a new bond had appeared between them without them realizing it.

Before they could say anything more, Huo Yuhao, who had long sensed something strange since Wang Dong had turned around, finally couldn't hold back anymore. He turned toward Wang Feng with a frown.

"What are you two doing?" Huo Yuhao asked quietly, his eyes glancing between Wang Dong and Wang Feng.

Wang Feng opened his mouth to answer, but before he could say anything, a strange sensation spread among the three of them.

The moment Huo Yuhao's eyes met Wang Feng's, the same resonance that had occurred between Wang Dong and Wang Feng suddenly expanded — this time involving Huo Yuhao as well.

It was as if invisible threads were connecting them one by one, weaving a strange yet familiar network of bonds. All three of them widened their eyes unconsciously, staring at each other, feeling each other's presence.

"What is this...?" Huo Yuhao muttered slowly, his eyes widening.

Huo Yuhao, usually calm, seemed at a loss for what to do. He could only mumble, "It feels like... we succeeded?"

Wang Feng took a deep breath, trying to calm his pounding heart that felt like it might burst. He nodded slowly. "It seems... yes."

"Maybe... we should try again after class?"

"Yeah."

The three of them nodded at each other almost simultaneously, and a silent, indescribable understanding naturally emerged between them. Even without sharing mental detection, they could somehow sense what the others were going to do next, like a mutual induction between twins. The feeling was truly extraordinary and special.

Boom! The loud noise jolted Huo Yuhao, Wang Feng, and Wang Dong, who were in the middle of sharing this strange silent understanding. They looked up at the same time and saw Zhou Yi with an angry expression on her face.

Oops... I got caught not paying attention.

"It seems the three of you think this lesson isn't important, huh?" Zhou Yi's voice was cold and sharp, almost like a whip ready to lash out at any moment.

"You three, get out! Put on your armor and run laps around the field! Don't stop... until the dismissal bell rings!"

So fierce! Huo Yuhao, Wang Feng, and Wang Dong all screamed in their hearts at the same time, but they knew that whatever decision Teacher Zhou made would never be changed. With no other choice, they had to leave the classroom with sour faces and head back to the dorm to get their armor.

Zhou Yi watched the three boys walk out sluggishly, snorted, then turned sharply on her heel. The classroom atmosphere immediately froze again; no one dared to speak or even breathe too loudly. Every student knew well: in Zhou Yi's class, even a small mistake could mean a heavy punishment.

"This is all your fault." As they were leaving the building, Wang Dong lost his patience and shouted angrily at Wang Feng.

Wang Feng could only smile bitterly as he listened to Wang Dong's scolding.

"I know, I know... I already apologized, didn't I?" Wang Feng said quietly, quickening his pace to walk alongside Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao.

But Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao sped up as well.

Wang Feng let out a small, helpless laugh and picked up his pace even more, almost jogging. "Hey, wait for me! Don't be mad like that, I really am sorry, seriously! I didn't mean what happened this morning."

Huo Yuhao, usually the most patient among the three, finally turned around with a blank expression, though there was a hint of mischief in his eyes. "In that case, you'll have to carry all our armor."

"Eh?" Wang Feng immediately stopped in his tracks, staring at Huo Yuhao with his mouth wide open.

"I agree," Wang Dong chimed in quickly, his face — still a little flushed with anger — now full of satisfaction.

Before Wang Feng could protest, Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong had already jogged off toward the dormitory, leaving Wang Feng standing there with a face full of misery.

"Why does it feel like it's getting worse..." Wang Feng muttered as he chased after them.

Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, and Wang Feng began running laps around the field, their armor clanking heavily with each step. After enduring this training for nearly two months, both Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong had already gotten used to the heavy weight of the armor.

The three of them kept running around the field under the growing heat of the midday sun.

Their breathing stayed steady, their bodies showing no signs of wavering — proof that the harsh training they'd undergone had drastically improved their stamina and physical endurance.

Xiao Xiao approached the three of them, waving her hand to signal for them to stop running.

"Teacher Zhou left a while ago," she said, smiling wryly at the sight of Wang Feng, Huo Yuhao, and Wang Dong in their sweat-soaked, battered armor. "You guys can head back now."

Upon hearing that, the three immediately stopped as if the world itself had just been saved. They removed their heavy iron helmets almost simultaneously and collapsed onto the grass at the edge of the field.

"Ahh... life is beautiful," Wang Feng sighed, lying flat on his back, letting the cool breeze wash over his face.
