Master Sheng lightly tapped his hands together in a quiet clap and stepped forward,
"And so as Jin explained this is a very useful application of intuition we cultivator's use often. And just to be as efficient as possible. I'm going to shoot near-harmless blood pellets to you, all you need to do it use mental energy to block them."
He held his palm up and a small pellet of blood seeped put of his skin. Then after forming on the surface of his skin he flicked his worst and it shot straight forward.
At a speed that no one could see properly, the pellet shot past Hou's ear, skimming the very edge. A single drop of blood dripped from Hou's ear before he noticed it was cut.
He stared wide eyed at Master Sheng for a second before turning inwards and activating the healing from his quasi-Nascent Soul and the injury knitted itself back together.
Hou's mouth hung open but a word didn't come out. Instead Master Sheng continued,
"And even better, it will also train mental energy or willpower or whatever you wish to call it. So, get ready. Stand wherever on the field and at anytime the pellet might hit you, just focus on trying to predict it. Your intuition will do the rest."
The five spread out the field, hundreds of thousands of steps away from each other. They were far away yet Master Sheng didn't worry, he simply smiled.
He held out his hand and spread apart his fingers. Each finger stepped blood which formed a floating orb which then shot out.
Continuously, small blood pellets were manufactured then shot out from Master Sheng's hand.
Hamar stood in the middle of the field and stared at Master Sheng while bracing his legs. He wouldn't try to dodge, he would unlock his intuition or get hurt trying.
Instantly, he felt an impact on his stomach, it pushed his skin down sending a shockwave through his body.
He rubbed his stomach where he felt the impact then smiled even stronger, muttering under his breath,
"This is real training"
One. Two. Three. Four. Pellet after pellet hit Hamar's body. Some heavy, some light. Some punchy, some piercing.
Quickly he was starting to feel some of the bruising but he did not stop and continued to stay still. Every once in a while he would think he felt an 'intuition' and send will to that part of his body.
But every time he was wrong, he had not yet unlocked his intuition. This was in comparison to everyone else who while were hit, did block a few pellets occasionally.
After an hour, Master Sheng was going to pause for recovery but instead he saw that Hamar had no progress of changed his tactic.
He redirected every pellet towards Hamar, and he sharpened his deathly intent. He poured this will into these pellets, a deadly intent.
These pellets all aimed for Hamar's crucial body parts, heart and head. They shot forward, but with just enough time for Hamar to see them.
Hamar didn't know why but he got a sensation...no a nagging inside his brain.
"You need to activate sight"
Without even questioning it, Hamar sent aura into his eyes and he could see ethe blood pellets move in slow motion.
With a trained mentality of a soldier, Hamar released wills and congregated them into a shield. It swirled and turned into an incorporeal form Infront of him.
But that wasn't enough. He had that nagging sensation still his body was warning him,
"Aura. Now."
Again, without questioning himself he poured aura into the mental energy framework to form a shield. The blood pellets all finally collided and stayed in the air pushing against the shield of aura.
Hamar could feel it cracking under the pressure and sent more aura into the shield. The blood pellets formed together, into one massive ball of blood.
It spun with such energy that it collapsed the shield around it; ironically trapping itself within its own cage.
Hamar sent his will into the aura and caused it to explode. A bright blue flash lit up the training grounds and a bloody fog covered floor. Master Sheng stepped forward and in that small step travelled hundreds of steps.
As he did, he held out his hands by his sides and the fine bloody mist on the floor collected into his veins once more.
He approached Hamar and put his hands on Hamar's shoulders,
"Congrats, Hei Feng. That is intuition."
Hamar smiled, and for a second Master Sheng thought he saw something. He thought he saw his face shift uncannily.
But then it was gone as he noticed it; this was the disguise Hamar was using from Huan Die having been disrupted by his aura blast.
Hamar looked into Master Sheng's eyes and said to him,
"Again. More of those, I almost had it properly. Let me do this."
Master Sheng smiled curiously, "had what...? Do you perhaps feel something with your intuition?"
Hamar shook his head, "I just need another shock. One more time and I think I can perfect a technique. Just once."
Hamar was thinking of a technique he thought of earlier when he had not felt his intuition yet. Now that he had, he felt it was in grasp.
The technique would use aura and mental energy to form a law that could mimic other laws. This was in principle close to the formations he had created before that used aura to bend laws.
But with mental energy, Hamar felt it was possible to make a new law. The law of mana. The law of Aura. Mana was foreign to this world and so the Dao did not restrict it, but in doing so it was also a limitation.
If he could create a law, perhaps he could cultivate and be a swordsmaster as well, that was his great theory. But to do it he needed a lot of knowledge and skills.
Skill that he did not have, but with intuition he felt so powerful...perhaps he could do it.
"No. Hei Feng, I love your enthusiasm but it is a no. Not just for danger, that is fine, but it would not work. Intuition is a double edged sword. It can help you but also lead you astray when you try to force it to do your bidding. Intuition should only tell you what it wants to at the time."
Hamar furrowed his brows, "but then how did those previous exercises work? Why does using intuition to find out about an object work?"
"They were already trying, intuition helps you with what you try not what you want. Same reason I told you all to try predict and your intuition will guide you. Those other might not know that is what they were doing, but subconsciously they are. So just try to do it yourself and your intuition will help guide you."
