'So… the physical fatigue is because of that strange dream…'
Noah rarely dreamed in the past. Her sleep quality was extremely good, and she only responded slightly when Luna hugged her.
But can dreaming really affect physical recovery?
Noah had absolutely no clue.
If it were simply an illness, then with her physique, she should've recovered in two or three days.
But now, nearly half a month had passed, and her condition only kept getting worse.
In the end, the Study Queen finally decided to seek help from her old man.
Daddy always had a way to solve all kinds of problems.
Of course, in order not to worry her Daddy and Mommy, Noah didn't directly say her body was unwell.
She had her own suspicion. Perhaps the recent physical changes and that strange dream were both related to the incident at the Primordial Dragon King's ruins half a month ago.
So it wouldn't hurt to let Daddy start investigating from that angle.
Noah found Leon in Rossweise's private library.
He was helping Luna and Little Light preview material for the next semester.
"Good morning, Big Sis."
Little Light was the first to notice Big Sis arrive, and raised her head to greet her.
"Good morning, Sis! You finally woke up~"
Luna also put down her book, jumped off her chair, wiggled her little tail, and ran to her sister's side, holding Noah's hand.
Noah smiled and nodded, walking over to the study table where the others were learning.
"Good morning, Daddy," Noah greeted Leon.
Her way of addressing Leon had shifted from the formal "Father" to the more affectionate "Daddy."
Under Little Light's influence, "Daddy" just rolled off the tongue better.
"Good morning."
Leon also responded gently. He was just about to invite Noah to join their "study group" when he noticed that his eldest daughter's complexion wasn't great, there was visible fatigue in her brows.
He opened his mouth to ask but glanced at the two younger daughters and changed what he was going to say,
"Noah, come with Daddy to pick out some books."
"Okay."
"Luna, Little Light, keep reading. If you don't understand something, wait until I come back to ask."
"Yes, Daddy!"
After giving instructions, Leon got up and led Noah over to the bookshelf.
The two stood side by side, casually picking out books from the shelves.
Choosing books was just a cover, Leon didn't want Noah to mention not feeling well in front of her sisters;
Noah was sharp and naturally saw through Daddy's intentions, and it just so happened that what she wanted to ask also needed to be asked in private.
Before long, Noah stopped pretending to look at books, lowered her raised heels, turned around, and said to Leon,
"Thanks, Daddy."
Leon also put down the book and looked at his daughter, "No problem. Now it's just the two of us, can you tell me what's going on?"
Noah scratched her hair, thought about how to word it, and said, "Lately I keep having the same dream."
"The same dream? What's it about?"
"It seems related to a war. A war that happened a very long, long time ago."
As the father and daughter spoke, they slowly walked through rows of bookshelves, arriving at the floor-to-ceiling window on the side of the library.
Warm, pleasant sunlight spilled over Noah's body, making her feel a bit more comfortable, but her little face remained serious,
"In that war, all kinds of dragon races fought each other to the death for resources and land, which led to a drastic drop in the dragon population."
"At the end of every dream, a white giant dragon always appears, lying atop the highest mountain of the ice plains. With absolute authority and strength, it ends the brutal war."
"I want to try and find some information about that white giant dragon, but the figure is so blurry in the dream, I don't even know where to start looking."
Leon quietly listened, not in a hurry to give his opinion or guess.
At the moment, Noah was just describing her dream, and hadn't yet gotten to the key part. So Leon decided to keep listening.
"And after repeatedly having that dream, I wake up every morning feeling really tired, really exhausted."
Noah furrowed her brows slightly, looking up at Leon, her eyes seemingly asking for help, "I've been debating with myself for a few days, but I finally decided to tell you, Daddy. I want to ask if there's any way to stop having this dream."
Leon had a serious expression, stroking his chin as he pondered.
The battlefield Noah just described should be the internal war among the dragon clans from ten thousand years ago.
And the white dragon that ended that war was the Primordial Dragon King, Noah.
Leon knew all this because when Rossweise started practicing the power of origin, he had helped her gather a large amount of ancient texts about it.
In those ancient texts, there were stories about Noah, the king of old.
It was the ancestor of the dragons, the hero who ended the internal war, and the first Dragon King in dragon history.
Its power nourished the land of dragons and influenced generations of dragon descendants to this day.
Such a great ancestor, if it were in the human world, it'd be honored in the Imperial Ancestral Temple level. No matter how many times school textbooks were revised, such a great figure would always have a place.
But why would this piece of internal war history appear in Noah's dream...
Leon did have a few ideas, but he felt Noah probably had her own suspicions, so he said, "Controlling dreams is a dangerous thing. After trying it, one might get addicted to the pleasure of being all-powerful in dreams, and eventually the dream controller can't tell reality from dreams."
"So before we try to make you stop having the dream, we should first figure out why you're having this dream in the first place."
Noah blinked and asked with some confusion, "It's just a dream. Dreams don't follow logic or reason. Can we really find out the cause?"
Leon shook his head, "This isn't a dream, Noah. This is a piece of real history."
He didn't intend to hide it from her.
He understood his eldest daughter, she was smart. After having the same dream for so long, she surely realized something was wrong.
So the father and daughter spoke plainly, no more riddles or guessing games.
"Real... history?", Sure enough, Noah only looked a bit surprised.
"Mm."
Leon gave Noah a brief explanation about the Primordial Dragon King and the internal dragon war.
After listening, Noah nodded thoughtfully, "So the white dragon in my dream is the Primordial Dragon King?"
She paused and added, "Mommy gave me the same name as that dragon king…"
"Yeah, since Noah is a hero of the dragon race, Mommy also hoped you'd become a great warrior like them."
That was all Daddy could say.
But the truth probably was:
Fake Hero of the Dragons: Noah
True Hero of the Dragons: Leon Casmodeous.
Time-traveling, saving wife and daughters, saving the dragons along the way, General Leon just brushed off his robe and concealed his achievements and fame.
Noah scratched her head, pouting slightly, muttering under her breath, "But compared to some Primordial Dragon King or whatever, I'd rather become someone like you, Daddy, ow! Hiss…"
Leon panicked and quickly stepped forward to support Noah, "What's wrong? Headache?"
Noah gently rubbed her temple, "Don't know why, my head suddenly hurt… maybe I really haven't been resting well lately."
Leon also gently massaged his daughter's little head, "Feeling better?"
"Mm, just hurt for a second. I'm okay now."
"Good."
[Dragon King, Noah: Using my name, but saying you want to become someone else—you little whelps really need a lesson!]
"But why am I dreaming about the Primordial Dragon King? And why so many times?"
Leon thought for a moment and asked, "Roughly when did the dreams start?"
He already had a guess in mind, but wanted to confirm it.
And Noah answered without hesitation, "After returning from the Far North."
The father and daughter locked eyes, and with all the clues laid out, the answer clearly surfaced.
All of Noah's recent anomalies were related to the ruins beneath the ice in the Far North.
In fact, right after returning from the Far North, Leon and Rossweise immediately invited the best physicians in the clan to examine Noah.
The results were normal, aside from a light injury to her right hand, there was nothing wrong with her body.
But after all, she had gone through the ruins of the dragon ancestors. Just because nothing showed on the surface didn't mean there wasn't a problem.
Leon took this very seriously.
If anything happened to his precious daughter, he would chop Constantine first and then smash the ruins.
Others are hindsight strategists who nag with logic, General Leon is straightforward: he'll pin you to the ground first, then reason with you.
Of course, the most important thing right now was to solve Noah's issue.
"Based on your description, you interrupted Constantine while he was absorbing power. During that time, your magic collided with the power of origin and caused an explosion, that's how you stopped Constantine, right?"
Noah nodded.
Leon paused to think, then analyzed, "It's possible that you accidentally absorbed some of the Primordial Energy at the time. But you can't use it, and as time goes by, certain 'substances' within that power have begun to affect your dreams."
Noah blinked, this was her first time hearing such a theory, and her curiosity was instantly piqued.
"Substances... residing in the power?"
"Mm. It's hard to define what exactly this substance is. Some scholars believe it's the soul after death, others say it's fragments of memory from the deceased."
Leon explained, "Opinions differ. But what's certain is, in the magic we use—"
As he spoke, Leon slowly raised his hand. Instantly, blue arcs of lightning danced in his palm, "—some things are definitely passed down. If, at death, the body perishes but the power and the 'substance' inside are preserved in some way, then certain special magic can be used to revive them."
But in every race, resurrection is a taboo form of magic, and the theory behind it is extremely obscure. Leon was just simplifying the explanation.
In the past, Leon had only seen descriptions of such magic in books, never witnessed it with his own eyes.
Until the empire shamelessly revived Constantine, twice, only then did his eyes open to reality.
Back then, Constantine had only a head left, and the power within it was pitifully weak. Yet he still came back bouncing with life, let alone the massive clump of power the Primordial Dragon King left behind in that ruin.
Noah thought deeply and tried to keep up with Daddy's logic,
"So what you're saying is, I now have some Primordial Energy in my body, but I don't know how to use it, can't release it, and so I'm being influenced by a small piece of 'substance' left inside that power by Noah, right?"
Leon nodded, "In theory, once you release the Primordial Energy inside your body, the dreams should stop, and your physical state should gradually return to normal."
Noah froze for a moment, then helplessly spread her hands, "But I don't know how to use Primordial Energy at all, Daddy, I've never learned it."
Something she's never touched, there's nothing even a Study Queen can do.
But Leon looked completely calm.
[A/N: Regarding the setup between Noah and the old ancestor, it's not possession, and Noah won't be "going offline" temporarily. Things will gradually unfold later, no need to worry.]
