Shen He wasn't entirely sure how Norman had managed to remain unaffected by the Green Goblin serum in this universe.

However, based on records from other parallel Marvel timelines in the multiverse, there were cases where Norman Osborn shed the identity of the Green Goblin and became a reputable public figure. So for now, Shen He decided to observe and wait.

Three figures walked calmly through the industrial complex of a newly established company.

This virtual reality and technological research base, established under Chaldea's banner, spanned an area comparable to a large university campus. Various residential facilities and entertainment venues were still under rapid construction—evidence of their long-term plans.

"Master, what's our next move?" Jeanne turned around and walked backward with a bright smile on her face.

"You're in a good mood today, Joan." Shen He responded gently.

"Because we've welcomed another companion." Zhendela softly took Shen He's hand, intertwining their fingers. "Isn't it natural to be happy? Adventuring and fighting side by side with excellent companions… I silently pray that this kind of life never ends."

"Even with constant battles?" Shen He raised an eyebrow.

Though she showed no hesitation on the battlefield, he'd always thought Jeanne disliked violence deep down.

"Fighting for my Master isn't a burden."

Jeanne stuck out her tongue playfully and whispered as if afraid of being overheard by the heavens themselves.

Shen He felt a gentle warmth swell in his chest.

"I heard a cinema opened here. Since we're free tonight, let's go watch something together."

With a snap of Shen He's fingers, Violet appeared in a flash, wearing her hamster-themed pajamas. She looked ready for anything.

Honestly, Shen He had hoped to take the girls to an outside theater and enjoy watching movies together in public. But it was too late tonight, and they needed rest. Another time, perhaps.

From that day forward, Shen He's life took on a reliable rhythm.

He dedicated four hours a day to Dungeon Raids. Violet's combat armor, personally developed by Tony Stark, was finally completed. Following Shen He's specifications, the armor mimicked Jeanne's aesthetic—pale purple with delicate curves and six-meter-wide steel wings outfitted with advanced aerial weaponry.

Violet's aerial combat support had proven crucial. Her exceptional tactical instincts helped her earn the callsign "Purple Phantom," a name that soon spread across global air force channels.

Shen He praised her frequently, and Violet's daily good mood became part of the base's new normal.

As the Forbidden World descended into full-scale global war, Lelouch's Geass ability began showing terrifying effectiveness.

Entire military units, even well-paid mercenary squads, surrendered to his command with barely a whisper of resistance.

However, Geass's control didn't extend to Espers or Magicians. That limitation was unfortunate, but still, Shen He and his allies amassed an elite army of over 3,000 within days.

"We still need to accelerate recruitment," Lelouch advised, adjusting the digital map at the war table in Chaldea's central command.

"That uninhabited island where Sister Misaka is hiding won't stay secret forever. Intelligence from across the world is converging on the area. Once she's located, a siege is inevitable. Some countries are even mass-producing Misaka clone units with technology reverse-engineered from Academy City."

"If we want stability and safety, we need to turn ourselves into a threat they'll hesitate to provoke."

The "water element" spy returned to the Vatican to confirm the Right-Hand of God faction was indeed manipulating this war behind the scenes.

But ultimately, greed and geopolitical strategy fueled the conflict. Shen He chose not to interfere with those power plays.

His mission remained simple: create a new world where all Misaka clones—especially Misaka Mikoto—could live freely. That was not only her wish but also the wish of Yifang Tongxing and the two sisters who once followed him into battle.

"We have troops, but not enough high-level deterrents," Lelouch continued. "Even Academy City's elite combat strength doesn't rely on numbers. They field few actual soldiers or espers, but autonomous drones and AI-controlled mobile armors make them the deadliest force on the planet."

Shen He remembered clearly—the black swarm of drones darkening the skies.

The payloads they dropped weren't bombs. They were jet-black, four-meter-long blades hurled from stratospheric altitude at hypersonic speeds.

He didn't know what principles powered them, only that the weapons struck like gods' wrath. The earth warped and cratered beneath their impact, magma pooled where crimson blades landed, and even saints would struggle to defend against such force.

"Only someone like One Side can survive that kind of attack," Shen He murmured, drumming his fingers on the chair's arm. "Even Misaka and Chuchun can't break through Aleister's drone fortress… for now."

"But we've got Stiyl Magnus, Kanzaki, Touma—people who can defy the impossible. The building that can tank nukes is just a shell to us. We'll crack it open when the time is right."

There was no need to confront Aleister Crowley head-on. In fact, Shen He preferred to smash the door, grab what they needed, and vanish.

What really worried him wasn't Aleister.

It was the being called Ives.

If Ives really existed in this "Instance Dungeon" and had powers consistent with descriptions from the Index light novels…

Then this wasn't just a hard-level dungeon.

It was a kill screen.

"She's supposed to have the power to destroy the world with a flick of her finger," Shen He recalled.

Sure, that was literary exaggeration. But the Marvel world had already taught him—fantasy could become reality.

Later, after the war council concluded and everyone dispersed, Jeanne lingered behind.

"Master," she asked softly, eyes bright with anticipation. "We've collected ten summoning stones. Shouldn't we try summoning again?"

"…I'm not feeling it," Shen He replied lazily, stretched out on his bed. "This new banner character doesn't appeal to me at all."

Still, he reopened the system interface, hoping that the gacha would magically rotate to something better. But no—Doctor Gutai remained the featured rate-up.

"Still stuck?" Jeanne leaned over his shoulder and protested with mock indignation. "Gutai-sensei is a wonderful man! Isn't he the kind of reliable partner anyone would want in an emergency?"

She wasn't wrong.

Doctor Gutai, "Soul Chaser of the Netherworld," was renowned across timelines for his miraculous medical abilities. It was said that he could pull people back from death, even if they were already beyond the veil. He wasn't a fighter, but his utility on the battlefield was invaluable—especially for healing non-Servant allies like the Misaka clones.

Still, Shen He sighed.

"I'm jealous," he muttered, tweaking Jeanne's soft cheek gently. "It's not just Mikoto. You're all smitten with him. Isn't Kamijou Touma just as selfless? I've never seen you show this much affection for him."

Jeanne shook her head and snuggled against his chest, indignant.

"It's not like that. Touma acts recklessly and never values his own life. Doctor Gutai, though… His belief that 'no patient should ever be abandoned,' that's admirable. Doesn't matter if you're rich, poor, hero, or villain—he treats you all the same."

"I still don't like it," Shen He grumbled, holding her tighter like a sulking child.

He wasn't truly mad at Gutai, but he was feeling insecure.

For all their shared time, Shen He and Jeanne hadn't taken that final step in their relationship.

He wasn't Siegfried. He didn't have a legendary sword, a tragic fate, or holy virtues. His kindness was just average—and only seemed remarkable because he held onto it even with power.

But maybe that was enough.

Jeanne looked up and saw the flicker of vulnerability in Shen He's eyes.

She didn't understand why he looked so tense.

She thought… maybe he really was jealous.

So she bit her lower lip and whispered in his ear:

"…Is it true?"

Shen He blinked.

Did he hear that right?

"…Because… it's been half a month," Jeanne stammered. "And I think I'm used to it now. So… I was thinking… could we be more like real lovers?"

She had tried to say it once before, that day she snuck under the covers when he napped in the afternoon.

But nerves held her back.

This time, convinced that he was upset, she found her courage.

The Saintess had never fallen in love before.

She had no guide, no example, and could only mimic what she'd observed from couples in the company—this was America, after all…

"Let's do it right now."

Shen He was genuinely thrilled. They were both adults in their mid-twenties, yet had been treating their relationship like shy middle schoolers.

He performed a ten-roll summon.

Fingers crossed, arms wrapped tight around his beautiful knight, praying for Jeanne's famous gacha luck to shine once more.

The result…
