The meeting with Kade's parents lasted for almost an hour. But for Felix, it felt even longer. If someone had told him that he had been sitting there the whole day, he might have believed it. Not because the meeting was so unpleasant, or tense, or because it was boring… After discussing the seventh-month birthday party for a while, they switched to more lighthearted topics. Just some gossip about what was going on in the Bloodmoon Pack, as well as other packs they were close with. Not political stuff, just some easy chatter. It was mostly Lorelei and Kade talking, with Felix only responding when directly addressed.
It was probably meant to make him feel more comfortable and at home. Ease him into his new environment, and give him an idea about the pack dynamics - a more positive one that he had witnessed the previous night, with the parade of the Omegas hunting Kade. It would have been a nice gesture…
Except that Felix was too nervous to relax and enjoy the conversation.
