Lorelei shook her head with disapproval. "Is that how you treat your mate?"
Faced with his mother's criticism, Kade threw Felix a sulky glance, full of complaints. 'See? I've told you it would be that way!' was written all over his face.
Felix couldn't help but sigh. The situation was beyond his expectations. But, he had to point out, "Um… Ma'am, I'm sorry, but… I'm not Young Master Kade's mate."
Lorelei huffed in response. "And now I understand why!"
Felix stared at her, once more rendered speechless.
Umm, Ma'am? Whose side are you on?
He glanced back at Kade, but the Alpha just turned his head to the side, sulking. Since Felix was the one to insist on wearing old clothes, even though Kade had asked him to do otherwise, it was now Felix's responsibility to fix that and explain!
Helpless, Felix turned his eyes to Einar Blackstone. Surely as the leader of the pack, Einar would be more reasonable…?
