Felix was woken up by the sound of knocking on the door. However, he only furrowed his brows, and rolled to the side. Because he didn't sleep well last night, he was still tired, and wanted to get some more sleep, whoever was at the door could wait. It's not like Felix ever got any important visitors that might stop unannounced, especially in recent days…
But as he buried himself in the sheets, he noticed two things.
First, there was no soft, furry, warm creature in his bed. The fox, who had always cuddled up to him at night, was gone.
Second, there wasn't even a hint of jasmine fragrance anywhere. Nor was there the scent of Felix's fabric softener, or any of the scents that were in his house. Everything aside from Felix himself smelled different.
His eyes abruptly snapped open, and he sat up.
