Chapter 96
We returned to the guild after our less-than-relaxing shopping trip to find it as busy as ever. The foyer buzzed with half-hungover adventurers discussing their latest bruises, and the sour,-sweet smell of spilled ale clung to the floorboards. I wanted a bath, a bed, and maybe a week of uninterrupted sleep to contemplate my life choices.
Finn had different plans, none of which involved even a moment's peace.
He dragged me straight to the quest board the moment we crossed the threshold, his hand clamped around my shoulder with a snakelike vice. "C'mon," he said, radiating energy I couldn't match even on my best day. "Now that you've got a weapon, it's time to take it out for a spin, see what it's got."
"I'm sore," I grumbled. "Under-fed. We can test out the sword some other time."
"Nope," Finn chirped. "Momentum is crucial. We need to keep going so we can stay sharp for new quests. "
