Clinging tightly to him, she tried to steady her breathing, grounding herself against his chest.
When they reached the couch, he dropped her onto it and immediately hovered over her, giving her no room to catch her breath.
"You looked just like this beneath him, offering yourself up as he prepared to eat you," he said, his words making her cheeks flush. The phrase eat you echoed in her head, forcing her to blink rapidly in embarrassment as she hit his chest lightly and turned her face away. But just as her mind began to wander with heated thoughts, she felt his lips press against her neck, and she gasped, her eyes widening in alarm.
"Zayd!" She called out, when suddenly a memory struck her, freezing her in place. Something was surfacing…a memory of calling his name, of a man looming over her but it was still hazy, unclear.
