"So, basically, you are here to defy me?" Zayd asked calmly, though inside, he could feel his anger boiling. The very thought of them suggesting he hand Lilith over to that bastard made his skin crawl with disgust.
"We would never dare defy our Alpha. All we ask is that you prioritize the pack," the elder replied. "She's just a human breeder, one who can be replaced if you send your men out to find another human virgin."
"Despite my disagreement, you insisted the goddess wanted me to mate with a human virgin, and warned that the pack could be in danger if I didn't sire an heir soon. But now, you want to sacrifice that same human virgin for the safety of the pack?" Zayd's words made the elders glance uneasily at one another.
The speaking elder cleared his throat and replied, "We only insisted on a human virgin, not that it had to be her specifically. There are others and we can find you a new one."
