NATHAN'S POV
"Let him go," Derrick's voice rang out across the garden, sharp and filled with authority. He carried with him his usual air of power. These past few days had crippled him slightly. Being forced into a marriage he did not want, he might have felt helpless.
But not anymore. He was back to the angry, powerful Alpha that he is.
The black-clothed men froze immediately. They didn't dare disobey him. Slowly, they stepped back, releasing me from their grip. I scrambled to my feet, wiping the dirt and blood from my face. My chest was heaving, but at least I could breathe again. And I was also happy that I came in just in time.
After scrutinizing me, Derrick's cold eyes shifted from me to Xavier and Quinn. Anger took over his expression—dark eyes, wicked look, and a murderous glint in his gaze. He was anything but happy about this.
