"Should I stop or continue?"
He asked himself while dodging another attack from behind, then swinging his arm and striking his assailant from behind, he kicked an oncoming robot from the front sending it flying, unfortunately a hit on his shoulders from the side sent him tumbling onto the floor, he made attempts to stand up but it proved difficult.
[Detecting signs of fatigue: training simulation terminated]
The Artificial intelligence of the gym determined before the robots stopped moving, and Kirishima collapsed back onto the floor.
He knew that it was healthy to recognize one's own limits; however, at the same time, he couldn't help but picture Taro fighting the same robots and easily completing the challenge with relative ease. Because of that, Eijiro felt like he needed to work harder to catch up to him.
"Barely managed to take out forty of them."
He said as he rolled onto his back, he had thought setting the training simulator to a manageable fifty street level opponents would have been easy, but he supposed he was a little arrogant, no matter how physically strong he may have gotten and how great his endurance may be, fifty opponents was still too much.
Although he did manage to take down thirty-five robots out of fifty, it's not like he wasn't close.
After another five minutes of him catching his breath, the doors to the gym opened, and Bakugou walked in, still with an angry scowl on his face.
"Oh, hey, Bakugou, looking to get a quick session in, too?"
The redhead addressed the blonde, however, before Bakugou answered, he looked at the contron screen that had been built into the wall near the door and saw that Kirishima's training session only lasted for about ten minutes.
"Quick? Please, unlike you, I'm not gonna last ten minutes."
"Your quirk has more destructive capability, so of course it's going to be faster at taking down opponents."
"No! I'm saying your endurance is trash, and that I'll take longer since I have more stamina than you."
He shouted, trying to make it clear what he meant; however, Kirishima still did not get it, or rather, the small smirk on his face showed he was purposely misconstruing Bakugou's words.
"If you do the same training as me and take longer, wouldn't that mean you're weaker than me?"
"Are you making fun of me, Red hair!!"
"Hey, you're going to be rude first thing in the morning, what do you expect?"
Kirishima said with a shrug, and Bakugou could only grumble, as he could not think of a counter.
"Anyway, did you watch the QMMA match last night? Rappa lost the first match in like a year."
Kirishima easily changed the subject, choosing to move on from the other topic. QMMA was what it said, Mixed Martial Arts, where people can use their quirks.
Of course there were some rules, like for instance, the quirk had to be the type that either enhances the body, like strength, speed and durability or a mutation that gives extra limbs or apendages, it can't be anything that can one shot the opponent or something like being able to generate fire.
To make it a bit clearer, Kirishima would be allowed to participate in an official QMMA tournament, but Bakugou would not be allowed.
"I mean, yeah, obviously he lost. He relies too much on the natural strength of his quirk, he's a poser with no skill."
Bakugou answered while fiddling with
the control panel, trying to set the simulation to his preferences. As he was doing that, Kirishima made his way towards him for easier conversation.
"I guess, but the other guy was pretty cool, too, he had s thick, long tail that he could use like either a leg or an arm, not to mention he was good at a lot of styles like Karate and stuff"
He said while recalling the match, He didn't disagree with Bakugou, but he knew that Rappa had some fanatic fans.
"His name is Ojiro, Mashirao Ojiro and he's got skill, Rappa lost to someone with actual fucking skills"
"Well, now I know who you're a fan of."
Kirishima stated with a bit of deadpan, he also noted that perhaps Bakugou did not like Rappa that much.
"Of course I'm a fan you moron, anyone with eyes saw that Rappa was going to get wasted by Ojiro!"
As the two began to talk further about the topic, Something strange began to occur. The robots that had been on standby began to move, slowly assembling together, coming together like Lego pieces and building something bigger.
"If that was a title match, Rappa would have lost his championship."
"nah, I–"
Unfortunately, because Kirishima could respond, the sound of something heavy hitting the ground caused the room to shake just a little.
[Training simulation: Smash the heroes, activated]
The A.I announced as the robot began to open its mouth, preparing a glowing red laser beam.
"The hell? I thought you hadn't started the simulation yet."
Eijiro spoke as he looked at the robots that looked to be a monstrosity that stood at nearly three meters, with thick arms that were as big as tree trunks, and a pair of glowing blue eyes.
"I haven't."
Bakugou answered, and a split second after having said those words, the laser beam was launched in their direction. However, both of them ducked down, and the team struck the wall, destroying it wide open and causing an electric explosion that flung both of them in opposite directions.
"Shit!"
Bakugou, who had rolled on the ground and quickly stood on his feet, exclaimed as he looked at the destroyed walls. The lasers on the robots were supposed to be set on stun; they are never supposed to be that destructive.
"Red hair!! we–"
He was about to shout, however, when his eyes darted towards Kirishima, he noticed the young man was still on the ground groaning.
"Dammit!"
He began to sprint towards him; It's been barely five minutes since Kirishima's training session ended, and as such, he was still quite tired and his body was not in good condition since he had gotten proper rest.
The behemoth of a robot threw a boulder towards Bakugou, forcing him to use his quirk and destroy it into multiple pieces of debris and creating a lot of smoke.
With the smoke covering him, he immediately ran full tilt towards Kirishima. However, a beam of a bright red laser cut through the smoke, and by a hair's breadth, it missed Bakugou's face.
At such a close call, he stopped on his tracks, realising the smoke didn't provide the necessary cover for him.
"Fuck!!"
He screamed in frustration before he was forced to even another boulder thrown in his direction.
...
Meanwhile, somewhere else, in an undisclosed location.
Tomura Shigaraki watched the glowing screen with a game controller in his hands. There was a small smile on his face as he expertly controlled the robot to attack the little heroes.
He felt a sense of glee and excitement as his fingers and thumbs moved over the controller, pressing the buttons with the grace and control of a veteran gamer. This was one of those rare moments where his skills at playing video games became useful.
Tomura was currently seated on a gaming chair, inside of what looked to be a bedroom, it was dark with only the screen serving as a light source, if Kurogiri did not exist the room itself would be akin to a den of pigs, luckily for Tomura he had a manservant to clean up after him.
"I didn't think the defence system of UA University would be so sub-par."
"It isn't."
Shigaraki answered, correcting Kurogiri's assumption.
"The only reason I'm able to take control of their gym gamma, is because of the bots we implanted in their system a week ago, it took barely minutes to get the information we needed but it took a week for the bots to hack the system without being detected and allow me remotely control the robots"
He clarified, when they broke into the school, they didn't just take information but also made attempts to hack into the UA university network and gain more than just information from it.
"I see, but did we not plan to use this once All Might has been killed?"
Kurogiri questioned, at present, the two of them were alone, and Giran, their broker, was tasked with recruiting the future members of the league of villains.
"That is true, however, I thought it best to test things out a little, give the heroes a mystery to solve and stoke their paranoia."
He answered, and Kurogiri held a comment about Tomura's action being reckless; however, the only person who could reprimand Tomura and have him listen was the master himself, as such, Kurogiri kept his mouth shut for the moment.
"Don't worry when they investigate this incident, all it will show is a virus, and
This is merely a test, so by the time our attempt at getting all Might happens, they'll have forgotten it."
Shigaraki answered as he controlled the robot to move out of the way and evade a close-up explosion from one of the students. He controlled it again and had it swing its arm and strike the young hero in the abdomen, sending him tumbling on the ground like a rag doll.
Kurogiri was not convinced; however did not say anything; this was very reckless of Tomura, but the master had always said it was best to let Tomura learn.
"I see, then I'll prepare breakfast."
He said before taking a bow and exiting the room, leaving Shigaraki to his fun. Although as he left the room, he wondered if Shigaraki had woken up early or if he never really slept, but experience told him it was probably the latter.

A/N: To be hero X is genuinely peak. I can't wait a week I want more episodes now!
