Ronan's POV
The world around me changed and blurred. One moment I was standing next to Sienna and Zeke as they made that amazing purple flame. The next moment, I was somewhere else. Somewhere dark.
"Where am I?" I called out, but my voice made no sound.
Then it hit me like a bolt of lightning. Power rushed through my body, making me gasp. It was cold but not painful—like jumping into a cool lake on a hot day.
I looked down at my hands. They were turning see-through, then solid again. Shadow, then flesh. Back and forth.
"It's time," a voice whispered in my head. "Remember who you are, Phantom Wolf."
Suddenly, my mind exploded with memories. Not the fake ones the Midnight Syndicate had set. My real thoughts.
I saw myself as a child, running through a bush at night. Not afraid of the dark, but part of it.
A tall figure with bright eyes stood before me. "You must hide," the figure said. "Until she is ready."
"Who?" I asked.
"The Ruby Wolf. Your balance. Your other half."
