Kieran's POV
The message arrived with the setting sun—three words written in blood: "Sienna is gone."
I crushed the paper in my hand, rage and fear fighting inside me. She had left without telling me, going toward the Void Gate. Toward danger.
"Alpha," my officer called from outside my tent. "The scouts report shadow creatures gathering in the north pass. Hundreds of them."
Of course. They were following her.
"Sound the alarm," I ordered. "We move now!"
As wolves rushed to prepare, I studied the map. Sienna would take the mountain road through Shadow Valley. If we rushed, we could set up defenses along her route.
The darkness inside me stirred, saying that I should let her go, let her face this alone. I pushed it down hard.
"Not today," I growled to myself.
The full moon was rising—our biggest strength. Tonight, my wolves would fight at their full power.
"Ready the packs," I ordered. "And send word to Caius and Zeke. We'll need everyone."
