Zeke's POV
I woke up screaming.
Fire burned through my blood. Not like regular pain—this was cold fire, like ice that burned. Vampire blood. Caius's blood.
"Hold him down!" someone yelled.
Hands pressed against my shoulders. I fought against them, my body not feeling like my own anymore.
"Zeke! It's me. It's Sienna!"
My sister's voice cut through the fog in my head. I stopped fighting and opened my eyes.
Sienna leaned over me, her face streaked with dirt and blood. Behind her stood the Alpha—Kieran—his eyes watching me with suspicion.
"What's happening to me?" I gasped. My skin felt too tight, like I might burst out of it.
"Caius's blood is changing you," Sienna stated. "You're not fully vampire, but not just wolf anymore either."
My memories rushed back—the fight, the Gate, the Queen's blade slicing through my side. I should be dead. Instead, I was... what?
"Where's Caius?" I asked.
Sienna's face darkened. "The Queen took him. She's inside his mind somehow."
