"What did he just say?!"
"He knows I'm Orochimaru?!"
"He actually saw through my transformation?!"
This was Orochimaru's first time walking around the ninja world disguised like this, and he was discovered?!
And worse—he had done something so shameful, trying to seduce the boss?!
Orochimaru's face flushed red, then turned pale, cycling through several colors in a short period—quite a spectacle.
Finally, burning with humiliation, Orochimaru scooped the items on the table into his cloak with a wave of his hand, no longer daring to look at Haruto. He turned around and left without another word.
"Phew~~~" Haruto let out a long breath.
"Finally, he's gone. Damn, I didn't expect Orochimaru to be such a disgusting pervert. That was more than enough!"
Watching Orochimaru's retreating back, Haruto snorted coldly.
"I may not be able to fix your mental illness, but I sure won't let you off easy, you creep!"
After closing the shop and taking a thorough shower to shake off the bad vibes, Haruto went home to sleep.
On the other side, Kimimaro noticed Orochimaru returning with a foul expression.
"Lord Orochimaru, what's wrong?!" Kimimaro asked, puzzled. "Did something happen at the golden egg shop?"
"Don't ask!" Orochimaru snapped.
Kimimaro frowned slightly. Orochimaru had never spoken to him like that before.
"There's definitely something off about that golden egg shop," Kimimaro decided silently. "Anyone who humiliates Lord Orochimaru must die."
Meanwhile, Orochimaru sat alone by the fire, several shuriken floating and spinning in front of him.
"Control of metal... no, this is control of magnetic fields?" Orochimaru stared at the shuriken, excitement flashing in his snake-like eyes.
"What an incredible ability..." he licked his lips. "I didn't expect Konoha to have such a magical golden egg shop..."
"And that fool Danzo was taken out by this shopkeeper, too."
"Hehe... Konoha is getting more interesting by the day," he said darkly.
Kimimaro looked at the hovering shuriken and murmured, "Is that the power you gained from the golden egg shop… Magnet Release?"
"No," Orochimaru shook his head. "This surpasses bloodline limits—it's on another level."
He stood up and glanced toward the distant desert.
"Lō, the Fourth Kazekage, can manipulate gold dust… Looks like it's time to give them a surprise."
"Let's move. The Wind Country's squad should depart now." With his new power honed, Orochimaru continued on his path.
The Land of Wind.
"Is everything ready?" Rasa inquired calmly.
"All set," Baki confirmed behind him. "Orochimaru has been contacted as well."
"With someone like him—an S-rank missing-nin from Konoha—our plan should unfold smoothly."
"Very good." Rasa nodded approvingly. Baki was indeed his most reliable right-hand man.
"Konoha... the Land of Fire…" Rasa looked down at the map of the ninja world, his smile becoming increasingly crazed.
Before long, the Wind Country would surpass all other nations and dominate the entire ninja world.
And he—Rasa—would become the most powerful Kazekage in Wind Country's history.
"Let's go!" Rasa waved his hand and led the charge toward the Fire Nation.
Behind him, countless Sand Shinobi marched with torches in hand.
The size of the force was far beyond what a typical Chūnin Exam escort required—and they'd departed suspiciously early.
Amid the crowd, one small group stood apart.
The other shinobi around them gave them a wide berth, intentionally or not.
At the center of this strange ring walked a young man with dark eye circles and the kanji for "love" tattooed on his forehead.
He carried a massive gourd on his back, his face expressionless, eyes cold as he stared ahead.
Nothing seemed to matter to him anymore—perhaps because the rejection from others had already left its scars.
The Next Day — Konoha, Golden Egg Shop
Haruto had just seen off a group of Anbu when a cold mechanical voice echoed in his mind.
> "Host has fulfilled conditions to upgrade the Golden Egg Shop. Upgrade commencing now.
> "Cumulative customer visits: 5,000. Current diamond egg count: 104. Upgrade cost: 100. One consumed. Three remain."
> "Diamond egg requirement met. Store upgrade will begin immediately."
> "Upgrade duration: one week. All services will be temporarily suspended."
"…???"
Haruto was stunned. That wretched system again?!
"Wait, 104 diamond eggs?! I've collected that many?"
He scratched his head, completely unaware of how many eggs he'd sold. Lying around all day, he hadn't exactly kept count.
Besides, he wasn't particularly obsessed with strength. Since he was invincible in the shop, there hadn't been much urgency to track diamond egg growth.
But then—Haruto's eyes widened.
"Wait, did the system say it used my diamond eggs for the upgrade?!"
"You mean… MY diamond eggs?!"
The more he thought about it, the worse it felt. He bolted upright and dashed toward the basement, not even bothering to grab his sandals.
"What the hell!"
Inside the basement, Haruto was greeted with a miserable sight: the storage shelves were empty. Over a hundred diamond eggs, gone.
Only three remained, sitting lopsided and alone.
"System! You bastard!" Haruto cried.
He'd spent half a year collecting those eggs—and they were gone just like that?
He had saved them for fun, for explosive surprises. Now they were stolen—yes, stolen!
If he weren't so mentally strong, Haruto might've passed out from the shock.
"What a scam! Thank god I saved more than needed, or I'd be totally wiped out!"
"And now… if I don't smash these three remaining eggs fast, that damn system will find another excuse to take them, too!"
Without hesitation, Haruto raised his diamond hammer and smashed all three remaining eggs.
With a crisp bang! bang! bang!, nine balls of radiant light hovered in the air, revealing nine mysterious items inside...
