Saki enters combat with the giant bug along with Shizuku and Abigail and yells her skill cast, executing her combo of slash and trust against one of the giant bug's limbs. 'Beetle Leader takes 28 damage!' She yells in cheer as her strike goes through with its base damage. "More bugs are coming! Chief!" Abigail calls out to Shizuku, who nods at her. "Saki! As I said before, focus on the bigger pest! We will fight off any bugs that come your way!" She told her one more.
After executing her attack, Saki stands defensively, watching over the giant bug. Then she saw Abigail jump ahead to face the incoming bugs. Her gaze follows her movement, taking a moment away from the giant bug. Abigail placed her sword to her right, her stance still and calm. "Sever the life of many in twain..." Saki gasped as Abigail swung in a wide arc, her cut as clean as hers, eliminating the bugs in one single strike. Saki quickly looked at her battle log and read 'Cleave' behind the line of texts of the bugs she defeated. 'That was an ordinary skill of Cleave?' She thought.
Saki quickly realized that they had a different way of casting the skill. While Abigail speaks in a composed voice, Saki has been yelling her lines aggressively. A slight envy overcame Saki as she thought of their difference and an idea came through her mind. Meanwhile, Shizuku was about to cast her own skill. Saki enthusiastically darts in her direction and watches the interface. She reads 'Phantom Arc' and witnesses Shizuku's sword turn into a transparent, ghastly appearance. "An ethereal sword hacks the souls of the sentient..." Shizuku casts her skill in a very low tone and swings against the number of bugs, her blade passing through their bodies without seemingly harming them.
As soon as her sword passes through each bug, they simultaneously flop to the ground lifelessly and shed no blood. Saki gasped at the display of her skill. However, she had no time to be struck by amazement, she quickly focused on the large bug. It let out a deafening cry and stomp, shaking the earth. "Careful now, Saki! It's attacking!" Abigail keeps the giant bug in check while fighting against its underlings.
The battle log immediately went active and displayed 'Crushing Press' The three ladies watched the giant bug fly up in the air, its wings buzzing loudly, and threw itself down on the ground. They jumped out of its way just in time, separating them. Saki gasped for air as adrenaline filled her body, she stood up quickly with the support of her sword and faced the giant bug.
'Devour' The battle log displays, shocking her. Suddenly, the giant bug lunges towards her, its jaw open to get her, its speed betraying its tremendous appearance. Saki was frozen in place, unable to react quickly enough. It was then Abigail caught a glimpse of her within a second. "Wind!" She briefly cast with her hand extending towards them, sending a powerful wind that ceased the momentum of the giant bug.
Saki let out a sharp exhale, darting her gaze between Abigail and the giant bug. "Saki! Focus!" Abigail yells, her gaze worried and with urgency, causing her to nod swiftly. She watches the giant bug stand back up, turning to her. This is the time. With Abigail's lines memorized in her mind, she executed her skill. "Cleave the enemies apart!" She yells as she swings her sword wide against the giant bug's limb. 'Beetle Leader takes 16 damage!'
Saki gasped as soon as she finished her move. "Wait..." She was sure she was planning on saying the same line as Abigail when executing Cleave, but she yelled her usual line instead of the line she memorized. Abigail glances over her shoulder to see Saki's puzzled expression. "You have a better skill, Saki! Why are you using an all-target skill?!" She yelled. Saki felt a blush on her face and yelled back. "Nothing! I was just... trying something out!"
"This is no time to be experimenting something! Hit it with all the best you got!" Abigail yells one more time before focusing ahead, battling with the bugs. The giant bug then raised one of its limbs to prepare for its attack. Saki watched its giant limb up the skies and hop to the side the moment it stopped from rising. 'Crushing Limbs' The battle log displays as its limb came rushing down the ground, completely missing Saki and instead sending a gust outward that blows in all directions.
"Watch out! The giant pest moves twice!" Abigail yells out without looking her way. Just as Saki acknowledges, the giant bug moves to strike again 'Crushing Limbs' It raises its other limb up in the skies. Its sluggish movement easily readable for her, Saki readies to hop away again. The moment it stopped raising its limb, she hopped away and its limb went down in an instant on the same spot she was standing on, shaking the ground around them.
Once it was over, Saki briefly checked the stats of the giant bug. 'Beetle Leader' '56/100 hp' It lost half of its health pool within just two strikes. Saki felt the boss fight a little too underwhelming, a doubt lingers in her mind. A boss fight, unranked or not, can't be so easy. She thinks of this as she prepares for her turn to attack.

"Down to the critical stage!" Saki cheers, letting out a triumphant smirk. All of a sudden, the bugs around averted their attention away from their battle to focus on the three women. The guards fighting around stand confused as the bugs they were fighting suddenly scurry to rush toward Saki's direction.
"Sounds like it ordered its minions to attack us! Be careful!" Shizuku yelled as she stood side by side with Abigail, protecting Saki and her surroundings. Saki readies to hop to the side, but she reads in the battle interface. 'Colony Signal' As soon as she darts towards the giant bug, it lets out an ominous buzzing, its jaw rapidly shaking, and the smaller bugs beneath it suddenly lunges towards them.
"Wind!" Abigail sends a powerful tornado and sends the bugs in front of her far away from the battle. Saki watches in awe as the bugs get sent away with the tornado that Abigail summoned. It was her first time seeing her cast powerful skills. Suddenly, a text displayed on her battle interface 'Crushing Press' and saw the disappearing figure of the giant bug in front of her.
She raised her head to see the giant bug hovering above. "Whoops!" She jumped to the side, narrowly avoiding the giant bug's landing. Its large body sends gusts around, causing Saki to cough as she stands up. "They're swarming in!" Shizuku yelled as she took a step back. "An ethereal sword hacks the souls of the sentient!" She swings her ghastly sword wide and slays many bugs without shedding a single drop of blood.
"Sever the life of many in twain..." Abigail swings her sword wide with urgency, and then glances behind her shoulder. "Hurry this up, Saki! Before we get overwhelmed!" She yelled. Saki looked around her, and many more bugs were coming from the forest to aid its leader. "Y-yeah, I got it!" She yells back and readies herself again.
