Chapter 106 - Chapter 106: Pamela's Floral Fragrance

The two of them bickered like old friends, arguing mid-air.

Their voices echoed through the night sky, accompanied by the whistling wind, adding a touch of liveliness to the otherwise quiet night.

After some back-and-forth—

"Tony, I need you to do something for me."

"What is it?"

"Increase the energy output of your company's large reactor by ten times."

Inside his suit, Tony froze for a moment before responding.

"Kino, do you even know what you're asking? If the current reactor explodes, it could destroy half of New York. At ten times the output, it could wipe out this entire country. What exactly are you planning?"

Tony's voice was filled with shock and concern.

Kino slowly revealed his plan—his desire to obtain alien technology and warships.

Tony immediately refused without hesitation.

"No way. Even if what you're saying is true—which I doubt—do you realize how many people could die? I won't help you chase after alien tech at the cost of innocent lives."

His voice rang firm and resolute through the communicator.

"I can guarantee you—no one will die during this war. And even if someone does, I can bring them back to life once it's over. I'll even have Magneto personally rebuild whatever gets destroyed. How about it? If we succeed, human technology will advance by leaps and bounds."

The promise of benefiting all of humanity made Tony hesitate.

"And even if you refuse, the alien invasion is inevitable. This whole situation is a setup. If someone's offering us a feast, why shouldn't we take advantage of it?" Kino continued to persuade.

"Fine. I'll do it—but you have to promise me that no civilians will be harmed," Tony finally relented, gritting his teeth.

"Relax. At most, it'll cost me a few resurrection potions. You've already seen how effective those are," Kino reassured him confidently.

With that assurance, Tony agreed. Sacrificing a few buildings in exchange for a complete set of alien technology—who could resist?

After convincing Tony, Kino returned to his palace in the underworld.

It was already past 1 a.m.

He walked to the hot spring that Xi had specially prepared. The room was empty, except for the steaming pool and the swirling mist filling the air.

"I worked so late that I stood Pamela up. I'll explain tomorrow," Kino muttered as he stripped off his clothes and stepped into the pool.

The warm water enveloped his body, easing his tense muscles and soothing his tired mind. He leaned against the edge, closing his eyes to savor the rare moment of peace.

The steam clouded his vision, creating a barrier between him and the chaos of the outside world.

A soft sound of bare feet padding across the floor broke the silence.

Kino opened his eyes and looked toward the source of the noise.

Through the mist, he could barely make out a figure with red hair. Her features and silhouette were obscured by the thick haze.

"Pamela?" he asked uncertainly.

The figure hesitated for a moment before replying in a gentle, seductive voice.

"It's me, darling."

"Why aren't you asleep? Where's Venom?" he inquired.

"Venom and the others gave up waiting for you and went to bed. I... couldn't sleep, so I came to soak in the hot spring."

Kino scratched his head, feeling a little guilty.

"Sorry, Pamela. I stood you up. I had to handle some mutant affairs—I thought it would be quick."

Pamela was rinsing off in the corner of the room.

"Why are you apologizing? You were handling important business. It's not like you did it on purpose," she replied softly.

Something about her tone struck Kino as odd, but he didn't overthink it.

"I promised you, though. But from now on, I'm clearing my schedule to spend time with you all. How about a trip to the beach?" He smiled, looking toward her expectantly.

Pamela remained silent for a moment before responding.

"Is it really okay to set your responsibilities aside? You're a king—you must have a lot of important duties."

"I'm your husband first and a king second. Being with you is my most important duty. Everything else comes after. And Pamela—why do you seem a little... off tonight? Could it be—" Kino trailed off, suddenly suspicious.

Pamela's body stiffened noticeably.

"Is it that time of the month?" he guessed casually.

Pamela let out a subtle sigh of relief and replied dryly, "Yeah, it's coming soon."

"By the way, could you tell me more about the mutants?" she asked, changing the subject.

"Of course. Tonight..."

Kino began recounting the events of the evening, leaving out only the part about time travel. Pamela listened quietly from the corner, nodding occasionally.

"You're incredible, darling. What the mutants have struggled with for years, you solved in a single night," she praised.

"It's not over yet. The rest depends on Erik and Charles. Speaking of which—Pamela, you've been washing for a while. Come join me. The water's really nice."

Pamela took a deep breath, as if steeling herself for something.

"Turn around. I'll give you a back rub," she offered softly.

"Sweet!" Kino beamed, immediately turning around and leaning against the pool's edge, eager for her touch.

A moment later, he felt the water shift as she slipped in behind him. Her soft hands began rubbing his back in slow, deliberate strokes.

It felt wonderful, but not quite what he was hoping for.

"Pamela, why aren't you using your... special technique like last time?" he asked, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

Her hands paused briefly before she replied, "I need to wet your back thoroughly first."

"But my back has been wet this whole time."

"...I'm not doing it anymore."

"Oh."

Kino sighed softly, relaxing as she resumed her gentle massage.

Among his wives, Xi's massages were too playful—she preferred to walk on his back. Venom, on the other hand, always got distracted and turned the massage into something else entirely. Only Pamela's touch was truly relaxing—and it left a delicate floral fragrance on his skin.

Floral fragrance?

Kino sniffed the air, his eyes snapping open as realization struck him.

He shot upright, water splashing everywhere.

Behind him, the woman flinched in surprise, losing her balance and falling back into the pool with a loud splash.

"Jean? Why is it you?" Kino stared in shock.

The woman in the water was none other than Jean Grey. Her pale skin, now flushed pink from the heat, clung to her figure, accentuating every delicate curve. Wet strands of red hair framed her face, making her look even more alluring.

Jean remained silent, hugging herself as she sat in the water, looking like a startled fawn.

Kino's wrist tattoo glowed faintly, allowing him to scan the entire palace in his mind.

Venom was sound asleep, curled around Xi. Pamela was resting on the other side, leaving a space in the middle—for him.

"A king's duty is not only to rule but also to cherish those who stand beside him."
