We were done for. I knew it.
Nicole's uncle's- or rather, Baurbius'- outburst had lasted a few minutes with all of us looking at him like he was crazy. The city head however, looked at him with amusement in his eyes. I had no idea what was so amusing about the whole situation but who was I to talk?
Best case scenario, I would end up being kicked around like Nicole currently was. At least, she could not feel it.
He kicked her again, herder this time. Everytime he hit her, the force seemed like it would break open the ice that was enclosing Nicole but the ice never cracked, no matter how many times he hit it.
"Ungrateful swine!" He spat as he kept kicking her.
I heard the village head snickering so I turned my gaze to him. He was laughing, this whole situation somehow seemed funny to him. Of course, it did, he was not the one who was at risk of dying. His biggest problem was a frozen girl and an out of control man.
