"The first match is between Contestant Brock's Geodude and the Kick Demon, Hitmonlee! Well then, both of you, please prepare to begin the battle!"
Looking at the Hitmonlee across from Brock, Ash knew that Brock was in for a rough time. The Hitmonlee Team Rocket had found was quite well-trained.
As the match began, Geodude and Hitmonlee both charged at each other, while Brock actually had time to flirt with Rebecca from the audience seats.
"Watch me, Rebecca! I'll fight for you!"
"Be careful!."
"Hmm?"
Hearing the warning, Brock turned around in confusion, only to see the Geodude's head growing larger before his eyes.
"Ahhh ahhh!!!"
Accompanied by Brock's scream, the Geodude hit him right on the forehead. Ash couldn't bear to watch and turned his head away, saying, "Oh my god, that's too cruel! I can't look anymore. Come here, Primeape, let me massage your muscles."
"Roar! (Okay!)"
While Ash was massaging Primeape's muscles to adjust its condition, on the other side, Brock's Geodude was being mercilessly beaten non-stop! It was brutal.
"Kick." It was only because Ash had previously taught Brock a recipe that boosted Geodude's defense, but it was only a matter of time before Geodude got kicked unconscious. Ash had no intention of stopping this. It was time for Brock to realize his own problems. Thinking this, Ash peeled an orange, eating it while handing some to the Pokémon beside him. The only one that needed to be fed was Ash's Psyduck. This guy didn't even bother taking it—just opened its mouth and waited to be fed.
As for Brock, watching Geodude get kicked around helplessly, he could do nothing. But then, the Karate Master walked over and handed him a red scarf, saying, "A real man can admit defeat honestly. Where you fall..."
Before he could finish speaking, Ash muttered from the side, "He was the one who just said he would fight for Rebecca."
"Wherever you fall, just lie there and never get up again!"
In the end, Brock took the red scarf from the frowning Karate Master and chose to surrender.
Ash and Brock examined the Geodude together, and after confirming it was unharmed, Brock held the Geodude and said, "You did well, Geodude. I'll make sure to polish you up nice and clean next."
"Here's some wax. It's specially made for Rock-type Pokémon. Giving Geodude a good polish will also help with its recovery. I hope you've learned your lesson and won't push yourself too hard again."
"Thanks, Ash."
In the subsequent matches, Ash's Primeape, the Karate Master's Hitmonchan, and Team Rocket's Hitmonlee all advanced with ease. However, there was one team that caught Ash's attention—a Machamp and a cloaked figure. Judging by their build, the latter appeared incredibly muscular.
Ash patted his Primeape, who was eating to replenish its energy, and pointed at the Machamp, saying, "See that Machamp? He's already at the Elite level. To defeat him, we'll need special techniques. Otherwise, there's no way to match his strength or speed. Although you've reached elite peak through your battles in the wild and my training, facing a champion-level opponent is a disparity that can't be overcome by brute force alone. But this is also your opportunity—the chance to break through to that next level."
"Roar!"
Then, Ash and Primeape faced their opponents—Team Rocket's Hitmonlee.
"Hey, you two from Team Rocket... Long time no see."
"Roar!" (Long time no see)
Seeing Ash and Primeape ready to fight, Jessie and James discarded their disguises and trembled while clinging to each other.
Seeing how scared they looked, Ash turned to Hitmonlee and asked, "They're not your trainers, are you? Why are you following their orders?"
"Hitmonlee!_Hitmon⊥"
After hearing Hitmonlee's words, Meowth said, "Oh, so you were rented to compete in this tournament. For you, it's about the fight itself, not the trainers."
"Hitmon! Hitmon!" (Exactly)
Hearing this, Ash nodded. "I see. Then let's have a proper battle!"
"Roar!" (Let's fight.)
"Hitmon!"
