"Do I even have a choice? No..." Matteo muttered.
With a resigned sigh, he crossed the room, his strong arms lifting her effortlessly as if she were a feather. Elisa, awake, nestled into him, her golden hair spilling across his shoulder. Her delicate face wore a dreamy expression like a baby fallen too far into slumber.
They reached her room decorated with lavished furnitures. Matteo gently laid her down on the plush bed .
"Come on! Go to sleep," he urged, brushing a stray curl from her forehead.
"Brother… like seriously? Am I not going to have dinner? I'm hungry…" she complained, her eyes barely open,
"Alright then, let's go," he replied,
As he turned to leave, he glanced back,
expecting to find Elisa already cocooned in the comfort of her blankets. Instead, she lay still in her bed, gazing up at him, her dark eyes sparkling with mischief.
