Chapter 3 - [ Chapter II (2): "WHAT IS UTOPIA" ]

[ Chapter II (2): "WHAT IS UTOPIA" ]

Utopia means a perfect place. That's it, that's the common definion for Utopia. But due to reasons, human imperfections and whatnot, it is only defined as imagined, as there is currently no Utopia in the world.

To Arthur that sounds about right, but at the moment he isn't standing in the world filled with sin. Wherein Adam and Eve ate an apple, disobeying God in extension. Wherein Abel killed his brother Cain because of jealousy, becoming the first murderer in extension.

He isn't in the world where it got flooded, he isn't in the world where Satan controls the world. No, he is somewhere else, a plain that is theoretically infinite inside his mind.

Not really inside his mind, but it feels like that to him, especially because whatever he thinks becomes a reality; for a cost in most of them that is.

Credits that's what the System calls their currency. And for most of the time, if Arthur were to create something, it requires about equal compensation on what he wants to he done, like let's say;

He wants to create a life-like 3D version of a game he is familiar with— For Honor. To create it there is a process, process that he walked through. He first created people, places, culture, and combat.

He explained clearly to the System what he wanted, then it took effect after touching air here and there, mixing and matching imaginary codes and strings of datas. He didn't know what he was doing, but it worked, as people and things materialized in the blank white void he was standing in.

Though he doesn't know what he was doing, the Developer inside him activated, his Class, as it then took over and did what he wants to happen.

It lasted for about days on end, it was quite easy, but he didn't sleep... Not that he physically needed it, but he wants it.

Sadly the process of creating a game using the System needs for him to be awake in the whole process, clearly explaining, clearly mixing and matching for the algorithm in the future to have a basis of.

Apparently after quite some time, and after all of his Credits was deplated— Credits that he earned by playing computer games in his new Home. He was finally able to create For Honor...

Yeah... About 10% on the way there, one that is still currently being developed, he doesn't have that much Credits to speed the process up. So he have been grinding on that game for about, what, 3 months. Yet the Credits he earned is still isn't enough.

Worse of it all, he apparently isn't skilled enough to defeat that Monthly Mission given by the System relating to For Honor.

Unless he defeat that Monthly Mission, then he wouldn't be able to create another game.

So due to the System having tricked him, forced him in a corner. He is now stucked playing the For Honor Game, lest his god-like abilities be wasted on some corner that none would have access too.

And he, after feeling isolation this past few months really-really wanted human interaction. He swear, sometimes his mouth would just move and talk, even though he didn't want that to happen.

That is how mad, bored, and crazy Arthur is at the moment due to isolation. Playing and grinding on the For Honor Game became a chore, one that he didn't want to do, but is forced to do, causing him to hate it— plus the fact he could feel every hit, stab, and slash didn't do him any good.

Perhaps the once joyful somewhat cynical boy, is now turned to be a heartless prick due to the influence of the System...

Yeah, but he could eat whatever food he wants here, and play videogames 24/7, if not for that then yeah, he would have turn mad months back already.

Thank the messiah for videogames. To be more precise, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare, original trilogy that he now could play without interruptions, or without his computer shuttind down due to his time running out in the computer shop.

Not just CoD, but he could also play any and all games that was available before his transmigration into this place. He played about all, and he quite liked playing on that computer, than really having a 3D experience inside For Honor to be honest.

Because it became stale for him. Screw that, bashing Viking skulls could only go as far. Or even chopping Samurais in half. It became boring after some time, he even once turned against his Faction and used a Knight body as a weapon in fighting, that was how much time he had on his hands.

Can you sympathize? Because he couldn't with himself. He is about as close to being a GOD, than being human. The only limitation is that, he is broke, and skill issue. So if he fixed both of that, then he could be a GOD-GOD or something like that... A lonely one, but still a GOD rather than not.

Perhaps the GOD of Games or something along those lines. Perhaps GOD of Deve- no that sounds stupid. GOD of Games it is. At the moment he can't claim to be that yet, just a simple broke ass adult in his early 20s, not knowing what to do, but wanting to socialize very badly in fact.

[ "Hope this works, if not, then I'll just kill myself. Or a thousand or-so Vikings." ]

He can't die by the way, he tried. Something within his mind doesn't want him to die, or even if he wanted too, a small part of his subconscious doesn't want too, so he doesn't; or that could be the System doing it's work, as his job or something-something isn't done yet.

That, [ "Save the DC Universe." ] Mission in his Mission List still looking hot and fresh to be honest, untouched. That being the indicator in how he actually found out where he is, or, where he is connected too.

How he would do that? Hell would he know. But it still isn't considered failed by the System, so at the very least the DC is somewhat intact, perhaps normal, so he isn't worrying about that fact at the moment. As he instead floats up in the air, seated cross-legged in the middle of the air.

Looking down at his creation, to be more precise at the small makeshift crude somewhat functional Lobby that he us creating. It has been about a day since he finished his For Honor Campaign, and he is here, begrudgingly, wanting to create a small Lobby.

A Lobby reminiscent of that, of Ready Player One, but also not at the same time in thinking about how big their spawning area is.

That... That would put him in a financial crisis, especially with his savings only being about 21,860 Credits.

Hopefully enough to create the Lobby, and hopefully with some more to spare for him to create an Avatar, then a new Campaign specifically designed for his Champion in For Honor. He broke, that's the only Game he has at the moment.

[ "Wider, wide- no not that wide!" ]

Arthur tried using the voice function of his System, in designing the Lobby. But that seems to be having a problem, as his brain, and the System have a problem in how wide the paths should be.

The System is insisting, even though he is inputting what he wants inside it, that the pathways should be about 30 meters, that is huge. In reference, about 1.20 meters is enough for a couple to walk side-by-side, in comparison, 30 meters is too much.

So using his abilities, he narrowed down the 30 meters pathway by the System into a 25 meter wide pathway instead. The cost lessening for about 10 Credits in doing so, which isn't much.

But using black stone tiles without any white gap showing, is sure to be expensive. That's the truth, and he can't argue with it. So after confirming the width, which is set to 25. He then focused on the length of the pathway, which he whimsically decided to be about 100 meters; x4 the width of it.

In comparison again, that'll be about a soccer field, so pretty huge. But he wouldn't be able to display anything here other than games. Which he only has about 1 at the moment— For Honor. So he didn't expand the size of the pathway to about 2-3 soccer field. That'll be the task of him in the future.

After tapping the purchase button, he couldn't help but close his eyes as 2,250 Credits disappeared from his wallet.

That would be about, what, 4-5 Final Stages? Damn, he broke. He wouldn't be able to financially recover from this.

So with a huff, he then decided to continue, and ignore his pretty fat stacked wallet lose more-and-more as the seconds pass by. He decorated the pathways with railings, then in the middle he placed decorations, soils, then saplings and then flowers.

He also placed slightly hovering benches, futuristic ass-looking trashcans, then an invisible force field barrier separating the slight levitated soils from contacting the black stone pathways, to not of course waste his money. [ "Can't believe this..." ]

About 5,585 Credits was lost by just building a small simple walking area for the future Players and Champions. He haven't even gotten to changing the surroundings, or building buildings, or changing the white infinite canvas wallpaper of the ceiling and the walls into a sunny sky, if not, then the void, which cost about 3,500 Credits.

Another punch to the gut, as his fingers trembled, hesitating if he should click it or not at all. As the prize in changing those wallpapers are set, whatever the hell you want the change to be. Worse of it all, if you disliked the wallpaper, then you'll need to pay another 3,500 Credits to change it; what a god-damned scam. Daylight robbery.

Plainly. But he doesn't care. As the minus appeared in front of him, so does the change in the surroundings, as planets far-away met his eyes, stars sparkling so, and the black void of space greeting him.

Thankfully he can't die, so that's that, and also because this weather change doesn't include sucking away the air for the Players. Something which they'll dearly need, that is unless they reach a certain point above, or fall below, which they'll lose air. They don't have to worry, they would just lose air, before then spawning again.

Talking about spawning, Arthur hadn't built a Spawner yet. So he needs to do quickly fix that. He toggled the System Shop and went to buildings, quickly seeing different varieties of Spawners.

Not one wherein a mob is constantly spinning in a small cage, no, that's Minecraft. This one is instead a pillar of circular light, it is up to him to place where. Reminiscent of Ready Player One by the way, as he dearly loves that one hit wonder.

Quickly building a spacious connecting elevated platform on the start of the pathway, Arthur then clicked purchase... Which is about 1,235 Credits, it hurts.

He placed the pillar of light, and the System automatically purchased it for him. About 2,500 Credits... [ "..." ]

Gritting his teeth, Arthur hopes that this Champion thing yields him some instant profit. If not, then he'll gonna throw a tantrum and kill whoever transmigrated him inside this white hell. [ "Better be worth it." ]

Balling his fist in anger, Arthur then forced himself continue programming, trying his best to reduce the cost of everything as he goes on further... And before he knew it, he only has about 3,870 Credits left in his wallet. Thankfully enough for him to purchase Player Slots.

About 100 Credits each. Then a Character which mimicks the appearance of the one who wields it, i.e. in this case the Players that Arthur would allow in this world. In those Players, he would then choose a Champion to allow inside For Honor.

Apparently that's how the Championship Selection Skill works. Pretty shitty because he couldn't just grab Batman and throw him into the For Honor Game wherein he would make quick work at that world.

But hey, at the very least this is something, and something is something, is better than nothing. And hopefully it gives profits...

He after some contemplation bought about 15 Player Slots, then 15 Blank Character for them to inhabit. About 3,000 Credits.

Which leaves Arthur with exactly 870 Credits left. A far cry from his original 21,860 Credits. And he didn't even done that much work. What he has done so far is;

A poor ass levitatibg ugly pathway, a Spawner that doesn't have any safety railings, and then space...

Yeah, this is the worse investment he has ever done... Hope it works as expected though. As he finally hits the completion button in this somewhat confusing, sonewhat mystical work of his.
