Chapter 52 - Chapter 25: Fortune-Telling Baba

Master Roshi didn't tell his disciples about Mercenary Tao, as there was no need to burden them with this information.

Goku continued, "I plan to collect all seven Dragon Balls, summon Shenron, and wish to revive Upa's father. But I've collected six Dragon Balls, and the seventh one isn't showing up on the Dragon Radar."

"Bulma, take a look. Is this Dragon Radar broken too?" Goku handed the Dragon Radar to Bulma.

Bulma examined the Dragon Radar and noticed that the screen displayed six glowing dots, but no matter how she adjusted it, the location of the seventh Dragon Ball didn't appear.

Bulma explained, "The screen shows the presence of six Dragon Balls, which proves that the Dragon Radar isn't broken. The fact that the seventh Dragon Ball isn't showing up means that someone has placed it in a lead container."

"The Dragon Radar works by detecting the electromagnetic waves emitted by the Dragon Balls, and a lead container can effectively block the scattering of those waves."

"Oh, so that means I can't find the seventh Dragon Ball," Goku said, not fully understanding but realizing that the Dragon Radar couldn't locate the seventh Dragon Ball.

"If that's the case, Upa's father can't be revived," Goku said sadly.

At this point, Master Roshi spoke up, "Actually, I have a solution. We can go to Fortune-Telling Baba and ask her to help us find the seventh Dragon Ball. She has a magical crystal ball that can locate it for us."

"Really? Where is Fortune-Telling Baba? Let's go there right now!" Goku exclaimed excitedly.

So, Master Roshi revealed Fortune-Telling Baba's location, and everyone boarded the plane to fly to her estate. Goku also flew back to the area near Karin Tower to bring Upa with him, although John didn't understand why Upa needed to come along.

Initially, Master Roshi didn't plan to go, as he and his sister had a strained relationship and hadn't seen each other in decades. However, John insisted that they were all young and could handle social interactions, so he forced Master Roshi onto the plane to accompany them.

Upon arriving at Fortune-Telling Baba's estate, they found a massive estate located on the edge of a desert oasis, with unique and exotic architecture.

At the estate's entrance, many wealthy people were lined up, waiting to seek Fortune-Telling Baba's help in finding something.

As a middle-aged wealthy couple passed by John and his group, the man said, "It's true that Fortune-Telling Baba is incredibly accurate. She immediately found my ring hidden in the sofa cushions."

"I told you the ring was probably in some corner of the house, but you insisted that I had lost it," the woman said, her voice filled with resentment.

The man quickly comforted her, "Don't blame me for being anxious. That ring is worth 400 million, and if it were truly lost, I'd be devastated..."

As the couple continued talking, they boarded a luxurious car and drove away.

At that moment, a ghost with a straw hat, who had just sent off the couple, floated in front of John and his group.

John curiously looked at the ghost, who had no legs and only a white body with two hands, and asked, "Are you a ghost?"

The ghost replied, "I'm Fortune-Telling Baba's servant, and I'm also a ghost. Do you need fortune-telling services?"

Goku nodded and said, "We'd like to ask Fortune-Telling Baba to help us find the last Dragon Ball."

The ghost nodded and said, "Sure, it will cost 100 million Zeni."

"What? 100 million Zeni!" Everyone except John, Goku, and Bulma exclaimed in surprise at the price of the fortune-telling service.

Goku tugged on John's sleeve and asked, "John, is 100 million a lot?"

John thought for a moment and replied, "For most people, it's a lot of money. Many people may not earn that much in their entire lives. However, for Bulma, it's not much. Our family earns more than 100 million Zeni in a single year."

Goku didn't fully understand, but he grasped the meaning of John's words, realizing that 100 million was indeed a significant amount.

Goku and Upa didn't have any money, and while the others had some, they didn't have 100 million Zeni. Just as Bulma was about to generously offer to pay for Goku, the ghost spoke again.

"It's okay if you don't have money. We also offer free services. If you can defeat our five fighters, Fortune-Telling Baba will provide her fortune-telling services for free."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and Bulma, who had been prepared to pay, no longer needed to. Krillin, feeling proud, said, "Are you sure? You should know that among us, there are four top fighters who placed in the World Martial Arts Tournament, and one of them was the runner-up."

The ghost's face suddenly contorted into a strange smile, and he said, "Of course, I'm sure. That's Fortune-Telling Baba's rule."

"In that case, what should we do? Do we need to wait in line?" John asked.

"If you choose to challenge our fighters, you don't need to wait in line. Those who are waiting are the ones who chose to pay. Follow me," the ghost said with a smile, leading John and his group into the estate.

Soon, they found themselves in a dimly lit palace, where a massive crystal ball slowly floated towards them. As they entered the palace, the crystal ball hovered in front of them.

At that moment, they noticed an old woman with wrinkled skin, a small stature, and a witch's hat standing on the crystal ball.

Upon seeing John and his group, Fortune-Telling Baba immediately recognized her younger brother, Master Roshi, and mocked him, "Ah, it's my foolish younger brother. Are you still as perverted as ever?" She then turned to Bulma, Launch, and the others, saying, "Girls, be careful around this old pervert. He's probably already thinking about taking advantage of you."

Hearing his sister's accusations, Master Roshi became annoyed and retorted, "What are you talking about, you old hag? Mind your own business!"

"Brother?" Everyone was shocked to hear Fortune-Telling Baba refer to Master Roshi as her brother. They couldn't believe that Fortune-Telling Baba was Master Roshi's sister.

Fortune-Telling Baba didn't seem to care about the title and instead asked the group, "Do you have something you want me to help you find?"

Everyone's gaze turned to Goku, and Fortune-Telling Baba, noticing this, directed her question to him as well.

Goku, curious, looked up at Fortune-Telling Baba standing on the crystal ball and suddenly asked, "Are you a girl, Baba? But why don't you have breasts?"
