Chapter 49 - Chapter 22: Procurement

John looked up through the top of Karin Tower and saw the Temple of God above. He said, "I think the next step is to go to the Temple of God and continue training under the guidance of the God."

Master Karin's heart skipped a beat, and he raised his staff, pointing it at John. In a stern voice, he asked, "Who are you? How do you know about the God and where he lives?"

John pushed down Master Karin's staff and said, "I'm just an ordinary Earthling, and I highly respect the God. I don't intend to offend him by going to the Temple of God. I know that the God is the strongest being on Earth right now, and I want to train under his guidance to become the strongest person on Earth."

Master Karin shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, but without the God's approval, I can't let you meet him."

John shook his head and said, "That's truly a pity, but I believe that one day, the God will agree to meet me. I'm sure that day is not far away."

John had anticipated Master Karin's reaction, so he didn't insist on going to the Temple of God to meet the God.

In truth, John didn't really want to train with the God. His real objective was the Spirit Time Room located within the Temple, where the high-pressure, low-oxygen, and high-gravity environment was ideal for training.

John's primary goal was to sense the divine power of the God. Although the God's divine power was weak, John hoped to use it as a catalyst to comprehend the divine aura.

After all, both the Ultra Instinct and the Destructo Disc techniques could only reach their full potential in the presence of divine power.

"Since you won't let me meet the God, I'll just leave. But before I go, Master Karin, don't you want to give me a gift? Or maybe I can trade something with you?" John said with a smile.

"A gift? Do you want the Nimbus Cloud? Don't worry, I can give you one, but I don't know if you can ride it," Master Karin said.

"No, no, no, I don't need the Nimbus Cloud!" John quickly refused. He was well aware of his limitations and knew that he wouldn't be able to ride the Nimbus Cloud. Even though Goku could ride it now, who knows if he would still be able to when he grows up.

Master Karin was puzzled by John's refusal and asked, "If you don't want the Nimbus Cloud, what do you want? I don't have any treasures here."

John's eyes fell on the jar filled with Senzu Beans, and he said, "How about giving me some Senzu Beans?"

"Senzu Beans? No problem, I can give you a few," Master Karin agreed, thinking that John only wanted a few beans.

John immediately shook his head and said, "No, not just a few. I think half a jar would be great."

"What? Half a jar of Senzu Beans? Are you crazy? Do you know how hard it is for me to gather this many Senzu Beans? I work hard for an entire year to cultivate ten beans, and you want half a jar!" Master Karin's voice rose in pitch as he became agitated.

The shrill sound made John cover his ears. Once Master Karin calmed down, John said, "Can I trade something for them?"

Master Karin hesitated. As the guardian of the Temple of God, he was bound to Karin Tower from the moment he became Master Karin. He had to fulfill his duty of protecting the Temple until he died of old age or in battle.

This meant that Master Karin couldn't travel around the Earth like a normal person and enjoy its various delicacies.

Master Karin had two great passions: curiosity and gluttony.

While he could satisfy his curiosity by using the jars to explore different parts of the Earth, he couldn't indulge his appetite. He longed for salted fish and Senzu Beans, but as a sage, he couldn't steal human food using the jars.

He also couldn't use the jars to kill animals and bring them to Karin Tower, as that would be too bloody. Karin Tower was a sacred place and couldn't be stained with blood.

So, his only source of meat was fishing in rivers and lakes around the world using the jars. Even then, he couldn't catch large fish because they wouldn't fit through the jar's opening.

When Master Karin heard that John was willing to trade, the greedy side of him stirred.

"What do you want to trade?" Master Karin finally asked.

Seeing the eager look on Master Karin's face, John couldn't help but feel amused. He quickly said, "It depends on what you want, Master Karin. I can get you anything that exists on Earth."

Master Karin immediately replied, "I want high-quality fish, beef, and cat food. I also want catnip. Humans say that cats love this herb. These are the main things I want, and you can decide on the rest."

"OK, no problem, Master Karin," John said, patting his chest. He believed that as long as there was desire, there was no fortress that couldn't be breached.

After bidding farewell to Master Karin, John immediately left Karin Tower. After saying goodbye to Bora and Upa, he boarded a plane and headed towards West City.

To prepare these items, John would need the help of the Capsule Corporation.

When John arrived at Bulma's house, she was in her laboratory designing a gravity control room. Seeing John, she happily said, "John, you came at the right time. What do you think of the gravity control room I designed?"

John didn't understand much, but he took a quick look at the design of the gravity control room, which resembled what he had seen in the manga in his previous life. So, John said, "I don't really understand these things, but as long as it serves its purpose, that's good enough for me."

Bulma felt like she had misread John's reaction, and impatiently tried to shoo him out of her laboratory.

John quickly said, "Bulma, I came here today to ask for your help. Can you arrange for a procurement officer to accompany me on a shopping trip?"

"What do you want to buy?" Bulma asked curiously. In her mind, John was someone who didn't care much about appearances and always wore the same three-piece sports outfit. So, it was surprising that he suddenly wanted to go shopping.

John told Bulma about Master Karin's requests, and for each item, John asked for a ton of weight. Each item would be stored in a storage capsule with a refrigeration effect.

In addition to the food that Master Karin wanted, John also bought many other necessities for him, such as a bed, refrigerator, generator, television, and more. John wanted to significantly improve Master Karin's quality of life.
