"Thank you very much, Mr. Malfoy, but I think I can handle it myself, so there's no need to trouble you." Lys finally reacted, raising her wand to summon the goblin who had previously troubled her parents.
Seeing the junior reject him directly, Malfoy didn't step forward again. Instead, he nodded in acknowledgment and sat with Snape in the waiting area, quietly observing the situation.
"Bloodline magic proof, right?" Lys recalled the spell and then confirmed with Senna whether she needed to perform it.
Senna originally wanted to keep a low profile; she didn't want any of the three of them to attract unnecessary attention during this period.
After all, until now, they still didn't know who had attacked their family back then.
But in this situation, if they kept a low profile, they wouldn't be able to retrieve their belongings. Moreover, if the Malfoy boy, known for his pride, took the initiative to speak, the little lunatic might have caused a big mess in places Senna was unaware of.
And the person she least wanted to face had already made eye contact at the station... Besides, if they couldn't retrieve the items, she wouldn't be able to sell potions, and the family would run out of money.
Senna didn't bother thinking further and simply nodded.
Seeing Senna nod, Lys began to chant the spell. A red magical beam drew an arc in the air, creating a pattern.
To make the pattern more noticeable, Lys increased the magic supply, which accelerated the formation speed and even started to splash golden sparks at the edges.
What shocked people even more was that despite such high-intensity magic output, Lys's complexion remained almost unchanged.
A fully formed spell enveloped Lys and her father. Seeing the magic take shape, Noah extended his right hand to Lys, who casually cut her left hand and grasped the extended hand. Although the magic circle trembled slightly, it still showed the consistent color of their father-daughter bloodline.
"See? Is it enough?" Senna looked at Noah's satisfied expression, and the anger in her tone subsided somewhat. After all, they were just a group of goblins, with greed and deceit running through their veins, not worth getting angry over.
The goblins, intimidated by Lys holding her wand, respectfully led her to register the wand for the legal use of the vault.
Discovering that wand registration was needed, Lys looked to Senna for help; her wand was disguised by her mother when she was in school, so how could she register it?
Senna impatiently clicked her tongue, indicating that she should directly ask for the key instead of registering the wand.
The goblin's little scheme: if they registered the wand, next time neither she nor Noah could retrieve the items, but if it was a key, whoever held it could open the vault.
With the key in hand, Lys was sent to her father's vault because Senna didn't trust Noah alone upstairs, so Lys had to go down by herself.
Under the goblin's guidance, Lys sat in a small cart, feeling around and finding it quite interesting.
But soon Lys changed her mind.
She nearly had her brain shaken out by the wildly bumpy cart and had to frequently swallow to suppress the urge to vomit.
Stalactites dripped water along the way, and they had to pass through the anti-theft waterfall, which was noisy and loud, with several sharp turns; not throwing up into the nearby stream was already Lys's greatest courtesy.
Watching the goblin holding a string of keys tap the stone door with his long fingers, Lys didn't relax her grip on her wand. She had no fondness for these cunning and despicable creatures.
As the stone door gradually vanished, Lys awkwardly entered from the doorway, scanning around and seeing the box her mother mentioned. She picked it up and looked at the vault's not-so-abundant Galleon reserve, sighing quietly.
There was just a small pile of coins on the ground...
Before entering, her mother said she could take whatever she liked, but... what was there to take?
Just as she was about to turn and leave, Gabon tapped Lys's head with its tail, a habit between Gabon and Lys indicating that Lys should pay attention to whether Gabon needed anything.
Gabon jumped to the ground and crawled forward.
With several protective spells on the collar, Lys wasn't too worried. She glanced back at the impatient goblin and walked toward the two bags Gabon seemed interested in, one containing a set of snake bones and the other half a bag of white crystals.
Carrying three items and Gabon, Lys took the cart back to the hall. "Father, there's no need to go down yourself; it's too..." Lys pondered her words, "too uncomfortable."
Her hair, already loosely tied on the train, was now uniquely disheveled after being jostled by Gringotts' rough little cart.
Noah smiled at Lys, reaching out to indicate she should lower her head. Lys crouched beside her father's wheelchair, letting Noah tidy her hair, which had been blown in all directions.
With the key secured and the two bags stored in the magically spacious box, they bid farewell to Malfoy, who had come forward to chat with Noah and Senna while Lys was retrieving items. Senna led the family of three out of Gringotts.
Senna pushed Noah along the not-so-wide streets of Diagon Alley, casually wandering into a clothing store.
Noah looked at Lys and said to the clerk, "Pick a few dresses for her to try on, and get me some of the latest silk shirts."
Senna wanted to say something but thought better of it and swallowed her words. After all, Noah should see what his daughter looks like in a dress.
Lys rejected any skirts shorter than ankle-length and sleeveless dresses, reducing the options to only two or three that could be tried.
Lys emerged from the fitting room with her half-long red hair, wearing a simple black shirt on top and a silk tight-fitting long skirt on the bottom. Standing there, she had a graceful figure, and her slightly dissatisfied gray eyes looking at the mirror revealed a cold, sharp beauty.
But she couldn't move; every step she took seemed to threaten to tear the skirt apart with her bold stride.
"Try the next one; this one, uh, doesn't suit you."
Noah watched Lys go back to change clothes and remarked to his wife, "Our daughter is very beautiful, like you."
Senna looked at her husband with confusion, "Really? Since her second year, I've felt she looks a bit like you..."
The nearby clerk glanced at the couple complimenting each other, "The young lady is indeed beautiful, but she doesn't solely resemble either of you; she has taken the best features of both, and her impressive height complements her aura well."
