"Too late!"
Whis' face suddenly turned pale. If it were just a regular energy cannon, he could easily block it with a protective barrier and the toughness of his own body.
Such an attack wouldn't affect him at all.
But this time, it was different.
This attack wasn't just a powerful energy blast, it had destructive energy fused into it.
Even if he put up a barrier now, it would be instantly broken.
And even though his body could withstand incredible power, he would still be injured for sure.
"No other choice then..."
As Whis muttered, his expression turned cold.
Then, he simply reached out and lightly tapped the oncoming Big Bang Destruction Ki Blast.
Instantly, the terrifying energy blast vanished, as if it had never existed.
It disappeared completely, leaving not a single trace behind.
"It… disappeared?"
"Completely gone?"
"Not even a trace left?"
Katakana stood frozen, staring at the empty sky where his energy cannon had been.
It was like the attack had never even happened.
But then, a thought suddenly came to Katakana's mind.
"Erasure… a divine erasure technique!"
Katakana was certain.
There was no doubt, this was the ability to erase.
There was simply no other explanation.
His Big Bang Destruction Ki Blast wasn't an ordinary energy attack, it had destructive power within it.
To make such a powerful blast disappear so cleanly, not even destruction energy could do that.
Only a divine power that could erase things entirely could produce such a result.
And that meant… Angels also possessed the ability to erase.
Maybe not as completely as the Grand Priest or Zeno, but they definitely had erasure powers. Katakana had once speculated about this…
He just never expected that his theory would be confirmed so soon.
Angels can erase!
Thinking about this, Katakana felt lucky, very lucky, that he hadn't confronted Angel Marcarita back in Universe 11.
Marcarita's power was likely greater than Whis's, there was almost no doubt about that.
If Whis could use erasure like this, then Marcarita certainly could as well.
Had Katakana challenged her directly back then…
Just the thought sent chills down his spine.
It was clear: even with Perfect Ultra Instinct and the power of destruction, he was still far from being able to defeat an Angel.
He had to find a way to grow stronger.
He needed a power that could resist or ignore erasure.
Otherwise, if an Angel erased one of his arms during a battle, That would be worse than death!
"Ahem!"
"Mr. Katakana, I'm truly sorry, I lost control of my power just now."
"But I promise, I'll never use that kind of ability on you again."
At that moment, Whis appeared beside Katakana, smiling warmly.
But Katakana ignored the apology, still staring at Whis with a heavy expression.
After a moment of silence, Katakana finally said:
"Whis... do you really think I should believe you?"
"Hoho!"
"I think Mr. Katakana should believe me, of course! I was just a little surprised and lost control."
"But you, Mr. Katakana, you really are full of secrets. You always manage to surprise people!"
"So when exactly did you learn to wield the power of destruction? Won't you share it with me?"
Whis laughed and shamelessly moved closer to Katakana.
Even though the destructive energy in Katakana's earlier attack wasn't particularly strong, Whis had definitely sensed it.
He was certain: it was absolutely the power of destruction.
And such a power couldn't be faked, not even by an Angel.
So he was sure that Katakana had mastered it to some extent, though he didn't know exactly how far.
"I don't believe you!"
Katakana responded flatly.
"If that attack had hit me, I'd probably be on my way to see King Yama right now!"
He curled his lip, clearly annoyed and a little afraid.
"Don't be like that, Mr. Katakana! I really was just startled, that's all!"
"You have my word, I won't use that power on you again."
"And if you tell me how far you've come with the power of destruction, I can help guide you in your training!"
"You know, I was even the one who taught Lord Beerus how to use it!"
Whis smiled brightly.
"So that's it, huh?"
"That… kind of makes sense."
"It's not impossible to tell you about the power of destruction," Katakana said, a sly look forming in his eyes.
"But, I want you to teach me how to use that power you just used!"
This was Katakana's real goal.
The power of erasure, Zeno's exclusive ability, capable of wiping out entire universes in an instant.
Even if Whis's version of the technique wasn't perfect, if Katakana could learn even a fragment of it, then he might someday have the ability to stand up to it.
At the very least, he wouldn't get an arm or a leg erased mid-battle!
"Ah… that one!"
"I'm really sorry, Mr…Katakana I can teach you all the advanced techniques I've learned as an Angel, but that power, I can't teach you."
"Honestly, I don't even know how to teach it. But if you're truly interested…"
"Maybe I could take you to see Lord Zeno one day. If you and Zeno hit it off, maybe he'll teach you the ability himself!"
Whis chuckled mischievously as he spoke.
Katakana had already asked about it in 12 universes and the Grand Priest before, just to avoid suspicion.
So in Whis's eyes, Katakana already understood how terrifying Zeno was.
Thirteen To Eighteen universes , was erased just because Zeno was in a bad mood.
Such a terrifying being, did Katakana really want to learn from him?
"Hisss..."
Katakana sucked in a sharp breath.
At first, when he heard Whis's suggestion, he thought maybe there was hope…
But then Whis brought up Zeno directly?
Terrifying. Terrifying!
No way! Not yet!
Right now, he couldn't even handle an Angel. To face Zeno?
That was far too dangerous!
Sure, Katakana had read the original story and knew Zeno's personality. He was confident he could probably win him over and maybe get taught the ability…
But Katakana really didn't want to become Zeno's personal plaything...
And who even knew if Zeno was really as "innocent" as he looked, or if he was just pretending?
