Emma's eyes were sharp now her voice rising with every word, her hands trembling slightly from the storm building inside her.
"Kelvin," she said firmly, "have you even been listening to me at all?"
She took another step toward him, her jaw tightening.
"From everything I've been saying, does it sound like I'm unsure? Does it sound like I'm confused? I said I'm married—so why are you acting like that doesn't mean anything?"
Her chest rose with every breath, emotions swirling in her tone now—frustration, disbelief, and a touch of anger.
"Just because you didn't know doesn't give you the right to come here and try to belittle someone else. You don't get to disrespect my husband just because it didn't turn out the way you imagined in your head."
Kelvin tried to look away, but Emma's voice pulled him back in.
"You were not married to me. We were never in a relationship. So why would you think that gives you the right to insult Zane in my presence?"
