Upon hearing Desmond's loud, mocking remark, Emma instinctively turned, her lips parting to respond, but before a single word could leave her mouth, another voice cut in from the side.
"Emma!" one of the girls in a golden dress exclaimed, stepping closer. "You've grown so fine! You even walk around now with your own bodyguard?"
Then came another voice—this time from one of the boys leaning against the drinks table, clearly enjoying the moment.
"Damn, Emma… this your 'security' is fresh o. You sure have good eyes!"
A wave of playful teasing washed over the group. They laughed, clapped, raised their glasses, and circled her like she was the star of a movie.
One after the other, they joined in.
"Where did you find him, abeg?" another girl giggled. "Send me the contact after this party, I need one too!"
"Emma, you've always been smart, but this one? You outdid yourself," Kelvin chimed in, clearly amused.
