On the other side, at the hidden gate in the imperial capital, a wooden carriage pulled by two horses came to a stop on the outskirts of the imperial district. It had been about a week since they continued their journey from the Auburn Inn. The wheels rolled slowly as they touched the cobblestone road, before finally coming to a complete stop. A group of men dismounted one by one, their movements displaying a caution too conspicuous for ordinary merchants.
Their leader, a light brown-haired man with a confident expression, was the last to descend. He adjusted his long coat, then glanced at the carriage that had carried them thus far, as if ensuring everything was still according to plan.
"Hm, finally arrived," he muttered, putting his hands in his pockets.
