Three days had passed since Raynald's letter arrived. During that time, Lucian's life hadn't changed much, except for one thing that had been bothering him lately.
June.
The white-furred Fenrir wolf had kept his word. Since that day, he had followed Lucian everywhere he went, like a shadow that couldn't be shaken off. Initially, Lucian thought he just needed to ignore the creature, but doing so turned out to be more difficult than he imagined.
When he woke up in the morning, the Fenrir wolf was already there, lazily lying near the door with half-open eyes, looking like he hadn't slept at all. When Lucian walked down the mansion's corridor, it would follow him from behind. Even when he went to the library or even the back garden, the Fenrir wolf remained within sight, sitting quietly, and of course, its eyes never left Lucian's.
