Cherreads

Chapter 51 - Chapter 49: Secret’s Out

Amanah sat in her favorite spot in the outdoor courtyard and surveyed the students milling about for lunch. It was another amazing day of being queen of the seniors. She was surrounded by several football players and cheerleaders. She had easily taken the Cheer Captain position last year with a boring exhibition of her athletic abilities. Not that the humans knew this of course.

These creatures were so easily impressed. It would be a simple feat to conquer them and rule this dimension. Money and status were everything here. She needed to be the one who controlled all that. It was also only a matter of time until the priests figured out a way to harvest the magic slumbering in this dimension.

She grinned. Autem thought he was so smart. He banished them to a place that was ripe for conquest. His loss. Her and her father's gain. She came out of her thoughts when her two closest minions ran up to her table. She glared at Cassie and Sasha. The two humans reminded her of the nobles in her father's court that she despised.

They were always fawning over her but the minute they sensed someone more powerful they would abandon her in a heartbeat.

"What?" she growled.

"It's your sister."

Amanah's gaze sharpened on the stammering Sasha. "Spit it out. What about her?"

Sasha and Cassie exchanged looks. Cassie spoke, her tone placating. "We just heard that Romeo and your sister are dating."

Amanah laughed. "You two are so cute," she cooed.

"Um, Amy. I heard it too," Nicholas stated.

Amanah stopped laughing and glared at her minions. "When?" she snarled.

"I heard it yesterday," he admitted, not looking at her.

"Ha! And you're just now telling me?" she screeched, surging to her feet. She swept her hand out in fury and knocked everyone's trays off the table.

She stood there, chest heaving in rage. How dare that useless piece of shit, poach her prey! Romeo was hers to take or discard. Even though he turned her down last year, she had plans to make him hers by force if necessary. Now, her useless, waste of space, twin had managed to snag the most eligible bachelor on campus.

Amanah couldn't imagine what he even saw in her weakling twin. Maybe it was pity. After all, Romeo had a chivalrous streak a mile wide. That must be it.

"Amy, I heard that he asked her out last week and also to the homecoming dance."

Amanah glared at Cassie. The dance was next week. She really wanted to prevent her sister from going but she didn't know if she would have time to set her sister up. She needed to get their father involved somehow.

"Amy, how are we going to break them up?' demanded Cassie.

She smirked at the shorter girl's evident jealousy. Every one of her female minions had tried to get Romeo to date them. He had turned them all down, including her. Amanah still smarted from that rejection. He was the first and only male from the Old World and this one to turn down her obvious play for affection.

Yet, her quiet twin managed to land him. She would become the object of jealousy. It wouldn't be too hard to push these humans into assaulting her. Amanah grinned at the thought of her twin being beaten so badly she would drop out of school. Her mind whirled with plans. She needed a few days to decide what to do.

She turned to her minions. "For now, do nothing." She ignored their protests. "I will come up with something to drive them apart. Then you can punish my twin for daring to step where she shouldn't."

The gleam in their eyes made her chuckle. It would be an epic moment when her twin got her just desserts for daring to mess with the social hierarchy of this school. It would also be a lesson for her twin about who truly held the power in the royal family.

Then when her twin was at her lowest, she would make sure Father added his own punishment to the revenge that would be dished out at the homecoming dance. Satisfied with her plan, Amanah left the courtyard and headed to class.
