"The hacker asked you to be here. That's why I called you," Darren said, barely looking at them.
Mason and Caleb exchanged a glance, their faces twisting into expressions of disgust. They didn't even try to hide their judgment now.
"Wait, what? You called us here because of that?" Caleb spat, a mix of disbelief and anger in his voice.
"Why didn't you just decline? You really dragged us into this mess, man."
Darren clenched his fists, his face flushing with irritation.
He could feel the anger rising in his chest, but he fought to keep it in check. They don't get it. They never will.
"I didn't have a choice!" Darren snapped. "You think I want to be in this mess?"
He took a step forward, his voice growing sharper.
"You two are the last people I expected to lecture me, especially when all the riches you have now—everything you've got—is because of me!"
Mason's eyes widened in surprise, but Caleb rolled his eyes, clearly unimpressed.
