Chapter 312 - Ch 312 : The Terrifying Hokage

Makoto's words instantly brought the atmosphere in the room to a freezing point.

The guards on the second floor all broke into a cold sweat, ready to rush to their respective Kage at the slightest disturbance.

Despite the Hokage's threatening words, Ohnoki did not flinch.

Instead, a cold smirk formed on his lips.

"Young man, no matter how much power you have, you still need to know how to use it properly."

As his words fell, the large ceiling light in the main hall shattered with a sharp crack, plunging the conference table into darkness as countless shards of glass rained down.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The sudden commotion sent the guards on the second floor into action, leaping down instantly.

But even faster than them was Ohnoki himself.

He hovered mid-air, his hands forming seals at lightning speed.

At the same time, one of the Iwagakure guards descending from above completed his own hand signs.

"Demonic Illusion: Immovable Light Prison!"

"Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!"

Genjutsu and Dust Release were cast almost simultaneously, both aimed directly at the Hokage seated at the head of the table!

Dust Release, a Kekkei Tota (Bloodline Selection) that combines Wind, Earth, and Fire elements, had the terrifying ability to disintegrate its target down to the atomic level, leaving nothing behind but dust!

This was an advanced secret technique even more difficult to master than a Kekkei Genkai.

Based on its performance in the original story, its destructive power was terrifying—even Uchiha Madara's Susanoo could not withstand it.

As for the genjutsu cast by the Tsuchikage's guard, its purpose was merely to make Makoto falter for even a brief moment.

Just a single instant was enough for Ohnoki to erase him from existence.

He had come prepared to overturn the table and break all pretenses.

The Hokage's ambitions were obvious without needing further explanation—he sought their voluntary submission and the complete unification of the Ninja World.

How could Ohnoki possibly agree to such an absurd demand?

Even if the other party had demonstrated overwhelming power, was he supposed to just hand over everything he had spent his entire life building, without resistance?

As long as the Hokage was killed here!

As long as the Hokage was killed, Ohnoki refused to believe that the other three Kage would willingly stand beside a man who sought to unify the entire world under his rule.

It was a perfect plan—until reality crushed it.

Makoto remained seated, watching as the blinding light of the Dust Release technique took shape, moments away from swallowing him whole.

Yet, he didn't so much as lift a single finger.

Before him, a pitch-black sphere appeared out of thin air, instantly expanding into a dark barrier that blocked the Dust Release.

The technique, which was supposed to annihilate everything it touched, struck the black barrier—but not even the slightest ripple or explosion occurred.

It was as if the chakra itself had been swallowed by the darkness.

Bit by bit, the radiant glow of Dust Release faded into nothingness.

"This…"

Ohnoki's eyes widened in shock, utterly unable to believe what had just happened.

Someone had blocked his Dust Release?!

How… how was that even possible?!

Sitting calmly in his chair, Makoto's lips curved into a faint smile as he spoke. "Tsuchikage, I truly admire your courage."

"Ah—!"

Two agonized screams suddenly rang out behind Ohnoki.

His two personal guards had been taken down in an instant by Hakumen.

Makoto did not immediately deal with Ohnoki, who was still floating in midair.

Instead, his gaze swept over the remaining three Kage.

"Before we continue, I would like to ask—does anyone else share the Tsuchikage's sentiments?"

Silence.

The entire hall fell into an eerie stillness.

The guards stood protectively in front of their respective Kage, but the Kage of Wind, Lightning, and Water showed no intention of intervening in the conflict.

"It seems that everyone agrees with my proposal, then."

Makoto spoke with a smile, then casually lifted his right hand.

Boom!

Ohnoki, who had been hovering in midair, was violently slammed into the ground, crashing into the conference table and creating a deep crater upon impact.

The sound of breaking bones—crack, crack—echoed through the silent hall.

Those standing nearby noticed blood beginning to seep out from the shattered table, forming a growing pool of red.

But from within that crater, there was no movement.

Had the Tsuchikage… died?

Just one move—an unbelievable move.

This man was the Tsuchikage!

Ohnoki of the Two Scales, a legendary figure in the ninja world!

Someone couldn't help but swallow nervously.

At this moment, they finally grasped the gravity of the situation.

They finally understood just how terrifying this Hokage truly was!

There had been rumors—claims that he could move mountains, fill seas, and bring about utter devastation.

Few had believed them.

But now, it was clear that these were not just empty words.

"Lord Hokage…," Pakura stammered.

Makoto fixed his gaze on her, his eyes deep and unfathomable, sending a wave of unease through her heart.

"And now… are you willing to join the Empire?"

Cold sweat formed on Pakura's forehead.

She understood all too well that her answer would not only determine her fate in the next instant—it would decide the fate of the entire Sunagakure.

She was standing at the very edge of an abyss, where a single misstep could lead to complete and utter ruin.

Yet she had no time to hesitate, no time to think.

With each passing second of silence, she could feel that eerie gaze growing colder and colder.

"I… I am willing."

Makoto's lips curved into a faint smile, his expression unreadable as his gaze shifted toward Yagura and Killer Bee.

"And what about the two of you?" he asked softly. "Will you choose as the Kazekage did… or as the Tsuchikage did?"

"..."

This was supposed to be the Five Kage Summit.

Yet at this moment, the Raikage and Mizukage sat there like prisoners awaiting judgment.

The Hokage before them radiated no visible chakra pressure.

Even when he had acted just now, they had sensed no fluctuations at all.

But the more this was the case, the more terrifying it became.

Their levels of power were simply not on the same plane.

"I am willing to assist Lord Hokage," Yagura finally spoke.

"Kirigakure is willing to assist Lord Hokage in building a… peaceful world."

With the Mizukage having spoken, the Raikage had no choice but to follow.

Even though Kumogakure had a deep-seated grudge against Konoha, he was responsible for his entire village.

Hearing this, Makoto burst into laughter and stood up from his seat.

"I'm truly gratified to see such awareness from you all."

As he spoke, his gaze flickered toward the deep pit in the conference table where the Tsuchikage had been.

"What a pity, Tsuchikage… So stubborn and unyielding."

"Hakumen," he called.

At his words, Hakumen instantly appeared at Makoto's side, bowing in acknowledgment.

"Iwagakure will take some effort to deal with. If they're willing to surrender, let them live."

"Understood."

Their casual exchange made everyone in the room break into a cold sweat.

It was just as they had feared—now Iwagakure would have to pay the price for Ohnoki's defiance.

And it was easy to imagine what their own fates would have been had they refused Makoto's demand.

Hakumen had only just left when a sudden, thunderous explosion shook the entire obelisk-like tower, making it tremble.

Moments later, through the windows, they could see the massive figure of the giant ascending into the sky before vanishing from sight.

Makoto smiled warmly and said, "This Five Kage Summit has gone much more smoothly than I expected. I originally thought you all would have some objections."

Pakura forced a stiff smile in response. "Lord Hokage is acting for the greater good… Since it benefits the entire ninja world, we are, of course, willing to support it."

Yagura quickly echoed her words.

The few of them seemed at a loss for what kind of polite or flattering words to say, only managing awkward smiles.

"In that case, let's conclude the meeting here," Makoto said.

"You'll need to return to your villages and explain the situation. One week from now, I expect to see you all in Konoha."
