Chapter 195 - Chapter 195: The Mysterious Waves – Returning Home

"Thanks… my friend."

Back on the summit of Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh, Paul stood under the moonlight, holding two plates—one golden and one emerald green in his hands. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Boom—"

"Ah—"

"…"

Suddenly, an unknown surge of violet energy swept across the sky, racing toward him in an instant. It passed right through his body before continuing its rapid advance into the distance.

As the wave surged forward, an unexplainable tremor followed in its wake, startling wild Pokémon throughout the area. Some took flight in panic, while others rushed away in fear.

Even after the wave had dissipated, Paul, possessing an exceptional mental acuity, could still sense traces of an unfamiliar energy lingering in the air—an energy unlike anything Sinnoh had ever known.

"What… was that?"

His initial good mood from returning home quickly soured, and his expression darkened with concern. A sharp glint flickered in his eyes.

He pulled out his phone to check for any reports, but there was nothing unusual.

"Rotom, monitor global news. If anything related to this event pops up, notify me immediately."

"Roto~!"

After issuing the command to his Rotom Phone, Paul wasted no time. He released his Garchomp and swiftly leaped onto its back.

"Garchomp, take me home."

Even though this strange wave didn't appear to have any immediate effects, Paul couldn't shake off a growing sense of unease—especially when he thought about his older brother and the Pokémon at the Pokemon center.

"Gaaaar~!"

With a mighty roar, Garchomp shot into the sky, rocketing toward Veilstone City at jet-like speed.

What could this be?

Paul's mind raced.

Could this be the result of a ripple effect across different worlds? Could a certain protagonist—someone who was supposed to resolve a particular crisis—have failed, allowing the situation to spiral out of control?

If that were the case… which region was affected? And which protagonist was involved?

Paul's expression turned grim at the thought.

Unable to figure it out on his own, he dialed Reggie's number.

"Reggie, are you okay? Has anything strange happened?"

The moment the call connected, Paul wasted no time in asking.

"I'm fine, don't worry." Reggie reassured him with a chuckle. "You sound like you're in a rush. Where are you right now? It's so noisy."

"I'm in the air. Garchomp is flying me home."

"Be careful. Flying at night can be dangerous. I'll—huh?"

Before Reggie could finish, he noticed something unusual near the Pokemon center's transfer device.

"Paul… why did you suddenly send back so many Poké Balls all at once?"

Paul responded in his usual calm tone. "I accidentally ended up in another world and caught some of the local Pokémon. I'm leaving them with you to raise."

Reggie was stunned.

"…Wait, another world? You're not hurt, are you?"

As everyone knew, Dialga and Palkia were infamous for their clashes in Sinnoh, sometimes causing spatial distortions that led to unexpected rifts in time and space.

Moreover, the Pokémon world had countless parallel realms—the Distortion World, the Reverse World, the Shadow Realm, the Mirror World…

Given Reggie's experience as a seasoned traveler, he had encountered plenty of strange phenomena. Still, compared to the idea of alternate worlds and rare Pokémon species, his top concern was Paul's safety.

"I'm fine. We'll talk more once I'm back."

With that, Paul ended the call before Reggie could ask any more questions.

At The Break of Dawn...

Time passed. The night sky slowly faded, giving way to the first light of dawn.

"Come back and rest."

As the sun began to rise, Paul landed in the courtyard of their home, recalled Garchomp into its Poké Ball, and made his way inside.

"Reggie."

Stepping into the house, Paul was greeted by the comforting sight of breakfast already prepared.

"Welcome back. Come eat."

Reggie took Paul's backpack, giving his younger brother a thorough look-over before finally relaxing.

Paul simply nodded, knowing that Reggie's concern didn't need to be voiced.

As they ate, Paul briefly described his journey to the Hisui region and the Pokémon he had encountered there.

The first matter of business was deciding what to do with the Pokémon he had brought back.

The priority? Getting them officially registered.

To prevent future complications—especially during League battles, where using an unregistered Pokémon could cause issues—Paul and Reggie decided to contact Professor Rowan and other Pokémon Professors. Their goal was to document Pokémon such as Ursaluna, Samurott, Sneasler, and Wyrdeer.

Unlike regular Pokémon, these species did not exist in modern Sinnoh, so their registration was crucial.

Before leaving, Paul suddenly recalled something.

"Reggie, I gave my Pokédex to a friend. Could you help me get a replacement? I just need it to verify my identity."

"No problem. I'll have it ready before your next tournament." Reggie smiled.

Reunion with his Pokémon

Not long after, Paul arrived at the Pokémon training grounds where his Pokémon were gathered.

At the edge of a lake, Aggron and Metagross were in deep discussion about Steel-type combat strategies. Nearby, Ninetales and Drapion were engaged in an intense training battle.

The moment Paul appeared, Ninetales suddenly vanished from the battle using Extreme Speed, reappearing at his side in an instant. Its amber eyes locked onto Paul's pocket.

Paul raised an eyebrow. "You want to see Samurott?"

"Mmm~" Ninetales swayed its tails and let out a soft cry.

"Then, let's go."

Paul smirked and tossed out all of his Poké Balls.

"Viree!"

"Gaaar!"

"Eeno!"

"Raaaa!"

"Chaah!"

"Ursaah!"

A flash of white light burst forth as six Pokémon occurred simultaneously—Electivire, Garchomp, Froslass, Torterra, Samurott, and Ursaluna.

Among them, Ursaluna's appearance left four of the Pokémon utterly stunned.

—Wait, that's Ursaring…? It can evolve?!

Yet, for Ninetales, the shock lasted only a fleeting moment before its attention was completely drawn toward Samurott.

"Woo~"

Ninetales trotted up to Samurott, gazing into the eyes of the now transformed warrior. Its once-familiar form had undergone a dramatic change, exuding an aura of cold, ruthless intensity.

Without hesitation, Ninetales unleashed Attract—a floating heart drifted toward Samurott.

Samurott made no effort to dodge. Rather, it never intended to dodge at all.

Today, it would put its evolution to the test—could it finally resist Attract?

The heart-shaped energy descended upon Samurott, but in that instant, its fighting spirit ignited like a honed blade. It fought back against the effects, suppressing the influence of Attract and maintaining its unwavering focus.

"Woo?"

Ninetales blinked, intrigued. Undaunted, it gracefully swayed its tails, attempting to further disturb Samurott's resolve—this time, pairing its charm with Hypnosis.

Yet, the Hypnosis that had so often failed in past encounters once again proved ineffective against Samurott.

Unlike its standard counterpart, the Hisuian Samurott possessed the Dark typing in addition to Water, granting it natural resistance to Psychic-type moves. While not completely immune, its blade-like willpower fortified its resistance even further.

"Chaaah~"

A proud gleam flickered in Samurott's eyes.

—The charm of a female opponent? Hah. Nothing special.

"Woo~"

Still unfazed, Ninetales' eyes shimmered with a strange glow.

This time, it unleashed Captivate.

As the move took effect, its synergy with Attract overwhelmed Samurott in an instant. The proud warrior's sharp gaze softened, its eyes flooding with heart-shaped pupils as it finally succumbed to infatuation.

The surrounding Pokémon shook their heads and sighed.

—As expected, never underestimate a female opponent.

Only Froslass, standing gracefully beside Paul, covered her mouth with a quiet laugh, saying nothing yet clearly amused.
