Jie Chen certainly wouldn't agree.
He stared straight at her, his hoarse voice full of magnetism.
"I said, you are not allowed to use this kind of medicine on me, Xiang Ying, you cannot take my life this way!" he was hysterical, his eyes blood-red.
Yet, Xiang Ying, without any nonsense, reached out her hand and kissed him while he was caught off guard.
Hot like a desert, dry and fervent, much like the pure heart buried beneath Jie Chen's icy exterior.
At first, he was taken aback and almost let Xiang Ying deepen the kiss.
But soon, Jie Chen stepped back, not even willing to push her away with his hand.
"Are you crazy?!" he exclaimed in shock and anger, his eyes seeming to burn with black flames.
Xiang Ying blinked and asked, "Jie Chen, you just need to answer me one question: if I were this severely ill, would you just abandon me?"
Jie Chen paused, his dark lashes slowly drooping to cover the emotions in his thin eyes.
"No."
