Chapter 126 - Preparations

Aurelia kept surprising him pleasantly, every action was according to God's will, something nobody would have expected of a former Infidel, and yet there she was.

Not only that in the past week, she had drastically matured.

While her lust was still as high as ever, she had slowly moulded herself into a true queen.

Something he had attributed solely to Raguel at the beginning, but seeing her act without fear in front of the senate and even demand some of them to be made into an example, he believed it was her own efforts, while Raguel merely pointed her in the right direction.

He crossed his arms as he walked next to Aurelia.

This was far from over; soon, they would need to hold a coronation ceremony to make her official.

However, this world lacked a pope.

'Who should do it...' His mind plunged deep into the abyss of deliberation.

The role of the pope was extremely important and couldn't be left to just anyone.

Cedric lifted his head slightly, letting two women guide him as he contemplated best options.

Seraphim would be ideal, but to summon them would be heretical, as their presence wasn't necessary at the current time.

Perhaps another kind of Angel, and yet he quickly decided against it.

They would all have duties to fulfill with a war against Iguva brewing just above the horizon.

His steps slowed down to a crawl, 'Perhaps we do not need a proper Pope now... We just need someone who represents God to place a crown on her head.'

Perhaps it was God's Chosen himself who was destined to crown a first Christian ruler.

While he most certainly couldn't fulfill the duties of Pope due to the many duties assigned by God, that did not mean he couldn't conduct the ceremony at the very least.

"What's wrong, my beloved?" Aurelia looked at him with puppy eyes.

With a slight hesitation, she tried to wrap her hands around Cedric's.

Aurelia pushed herself against Cedric, "You can tell me!"

However, Cedric did not plan to play along with her obvious attempts at seduction, despite them not being as repulsive as they were before.

He pulled away gently, "Let's continue, I am just contemplating our next move." Raguel and Aurelia looked toward each other before quickly catching up with Cedric.

Another question that gnawed at his mind was where the coronation should be held.

Usually a cathedral would be used for such an event but Christianity did not possess any such buildings.

Which left him with two options.

Purge the Cathedral that glorified Chrunus and use it, or just crown Aurelia inside the palace instead.

The palace, while unorthodox, was consecrated by the presence of Aurelia and all servants that were converted to Christianity.

Preaching and Sermons were held each night, making it a perfectly suitable place to conduct the ceremony.

In his mind, Cedric had come to answer both of the questions.

The Pope was necessary, but not right now.

He would crown Aurelia, and he would do it inside the palace.

Now that left a single question of regalia.

While the crown was fine, the other pieces were destroyed together with Avaros.

Alas, it did not matter, as long as she was crowned under God, there was no need for any additional flair.

It did not take them long to arrive at the palace.

Raguel was assigned to deal with some documentation, leaving Cedric and Aurelia alone in the throne room.

Cedric stood in silence for a moment, despite Aurelia's fidgeting and her eyes darting between the throne and Cedric, "You could sit on the throne and I could be in your lap~"

Cedric blinked in disbelief, She had returned to her old self already.

He sighed, "Aurelia, you are doing much better, but keep down your lust."

"But..."

"We need to think about your coronation." His words pulled her out of her stupor.

"What did you have in mind?"

"I will crown you." Aurelia's eyes widened.

"REALLY?! My beloved will make me official queen, such amazing news!" She said excitedly as if she were a child who got the candy they craved.

He smiled. He couldn't blame her, being crowned under God was an honor only legitimate rulers had. "However, we do not have a proper consecrated cathedral yet, so the ceremony will be held in the palace."

Aurelia nodded, her mind fully tuning out every information other than her beloved would place a crown on her head.

She was no longer afraid of the duty, it would shame Cedric if she had failed or run away now.

"Usually it would be done in a Cathedral consecrated by Chrunus... but this palace is more holy than that place ever was!" She stated with pride.

Cedric clenched his fist.

"That false faith will be rooted out soon."

Aurelia took a step back by instict, her beloved was always scary when talking about the church of Chrunus, but despite that, she only saw her hero who would never hurt her.

"When do you think we should hold this ceremony?" Her face gained a stern expression.

"Sooner the better."

"Could we hold it next week." She smiled.

"Why?"

"No reason...But I really want you to trust me." She placed her hands behind her back while smiling.

Cedric sighed,"I will agree to that, I hope your reason is worthy."

Aurelia merely jiggled.

A reason was simple, that was when her sculptures would be completed.

She wished to gift a sculpted cross to Cedric after the ceremony concluded.

"I will now depart. We will meet tonight for the bible study, Queen Aurelia." With those words, Cedric rushed out once again, leaving her alone until her Guardians took their positions.

'Seems like he truly has patience for me... Raguel was right.' She smiled.

She placed her palm onto her cheek before leaning into it. Despite everything, she still wished for more time with Cedric.

While night study was wonderful, she wanted to spend daylight with him too.

'I'll definitely spend all day with him when we get married!' She beamed with a wide smile.
