That day was the most long ever been lived on earth and the most fun. They couldn't even believe what they wrote as a joke in their social media accounts could garner that much attention from the locals.
The salon ended up being a tea party and a round table all at the same time! With women of all ages coming from every path of life just to discuss on their joke of an agenda. 'What would you do if you caught your man cheating? PS: You don't love the guy'
"Alright guys! It's way past my bed time and I honestly had enough of hair sprays for the day!" Came Philip's rude comment only to fall to deaf ears and for some who heard, brushed it off but, before they could do anything they heard a commotion coming from outside and due to them being the gossipy kind? They all went outside to witness.
And there she was Aileen on top of a bloodied body doing whatever the hell the medics in the movies do during the emergency calls and looking badass as hell. So, she was a medic?
While everyone was looking at that situation objectively, Jake took it personally. He knew the doctor in attendance there and wanted to help so, he rushed to her.
"Are you okay?" Questioned Jake after inspecting with his eyes and came back negative.
"Oh, hi baby... Surprise!!" Said Aileen at the sight of Jake, "I didn't have your number so, I figured I could wait for you here and surprise you. Sorry for the mess. It's an emergency as you can see... Can we delay our date for like two hours?"
"Can I help?" Offered Jake
"No, I'm almost done with this one and the ambulance is two minutes away as we speak so..., What would you be having for dinner?" Asked Aileen as she drew blood from a patient and let it flow out before she stopped it with her shirt leaving her in only a bra.
"You are so weird" Muttered Jake impressed by how Aileen carries herself with this humble confidence and this cold charming side of hers, "Gosh, I want to kiss you so bad right now?"
"You don't mind the blood?" Asked Aileen cocking her head sideways leaving her face to seem more attractive than ever.
"Can I?" Asked Jake once again this time he was inches away from her face and that's when they were interrupted by the medics.
"So, how many injured are we talking about?" Asked a commanding voice earning attention from Aileen who forgot the presence of Jake in a heartbeat!
"Four, including an old lady with diabetes who fainted at the sight leading for her head to bleed" Informed Aileen and that's when Jake took in the place. It was a scene from a horror movie. How is she dealing with it like nothing?
"Aileen? Fuck! And here I thought I was heading to work..." Commented the seemingly captain of the group before turning to his subordinates, "Someone better call for back up of two more ambulances and get that old lady checked first!"
"I already called for them. I'm sorry if I crossed the line" Apologized Aileen only to earn a slap on the shoulder on a job well done.
"Child, this wasn't you crossing a line but, saving lives. What's the meaning of a doctor if they can't save lives in spite of protocols?" Said the chief with an easy laugh while everyone was busy on the injured.
And then there came traffic officers, police and the two more ambulances. Jake was never great with that crowd so, he returned to Philip out of habits.
"So, that's the vixen in your heart?" Asked Philip the obvious.
"Her name is Aileen..." Muttered Jake uneasy.
"Irene huh? It suits her" Commented Philip proudly before picking on the vibe, "So, something happened when I blinked?"
"Her job... I..." Trailed off Jake not really knowing what to say next.
"Earlier it was breakfast now it's her job? Come to me when it's your blaming time" Teased Philip to unresponsive Jake.
"She's just so cool and did you even hear the adoration she was getting from her people? What if I'm not good enough for her?" Asked Jake worriedly.
"Aaww, my big baby" Started Philip with a baby voice, "You can never be enough for her, and that's what's beautiful in love... To go above and beyond your limits for the one you love"
"But, she needs a manly man, a man who can_" Jake stopped mid sentence thanks to Philip's interruption.
"That's enough" Philip silenced Jake with a finger to her lips, "That's not for you decide, is it?"
"I'm scared, Phi phi" Mumbled Jake weakly.
"No, you are not! Just be yourself and sincere and everything will work themselves out" Advised Philip before picking up her buzzing phone. It was Aiden.
"Hey, mama... How's your day?" Greeted Aiden from the other side of the call.
"Tiring and you?" Replied Philip acting coy.
"Spent most of it yearning for you" Said Aiden with a laugh. He was seriously missing Philip like crazy that day.
"Pity" Said Philip getting bashful, "Are you done for the day?"
"Oh, yeah... that's the reason I'm calling actually" Said Aiden before Philip heard shuffling from the other side of the phone before a breeze.
"What's up?" Asked Philip curiously.
"I'm in a jam like a half kilometre from your salon. So, I'll be there late as, I'm walking to get to you" Informed Aiden
"Oh, that's a bummer. There's a car accident just steps away from the salon maybe that's why...?. I'll be waiting for you then" Said Philip the last bit cheerfully.
"Yeah, see you then" Said Aiden before ending the call.
"Time to lock up" Announced Philip only to find Jake busy pining on the queen of the scene.
"Take her home, cook her a hearty meal and lose yourselves as you keeping on sipping wine" Suggested Philip as she took her hand bag and escaped to the bathroom for some touch up and some deep preparations. A diamond gotta shine.
Jake couldn't shake the feeling like Aileen was devaluing herself in wanting him.
"Hey" Greeted Aileen when she approached Jake, drowning everyone and everything beside her.
"Hi" Replied Jake biting his lips nervously.
"So, this is awkward..." Started off Aileen feeling out of place and embarrassed, "Can I take you to the nearest hotel before we set off to our date?"
"Why?" Asked Jake absent minded.
"I can't possibly go out looking like this, can I?" Asked Aileen amused.
"I... I... I live quite nearby. You can freshen up there, if you don't mind" Offered Jake like a fool in love making Aileen chuckle.
"Am I the reason why you are stammering, Mr Jacob?" Asked Aileen getting excited by the minute.
"I'm too bad at this" Sighed Jake helplessly, "I wanted to tell you to spend the night with me, if it's possible"
