The Dream God Laren suddenly heard the agonizing scream of his beloved child.
He had just been immersed in a beautiful sleep when suddenly, cries of utter despair echoed through his mind, tearing apart the once blissful dream. Laren opened his eyes, and between awakening and dreaming, he could only see the fierce face of his beloved child, Shangla'er, and the fear deep in his eyes.
"Shangla'er!"
Laren cried out in panic, sitting up swiftly from his sleeping mat, and in an instant, the figure disappeared from his bedroom.
Nearly mad, the Dream God rushed toward the Mortal World. As the distance shortened, Shangla'er's fear became increasingly clear; it was so heart-wrenching that even Laren felt a chill. He couldn't imagine what his beloved child was going through.
The mental connection allowed the Dream God to instantly pinpoint Shangla'er's location. He dared not delay and his mind whirled with rapid thoughts.
However, he was ultimately too late.
