The ER door swung open with a slow but heavy creak. First, a nurse came with a rolling incubator. Inside, the baby was silent, eyes closed, chest rising just enough to know she was holding on. A tube ran under her nose, and a soft beeping echoed through the corridor.
" Clear the hallway." the nurse snapped.
No one moved, Naarah was frozen, eyes locked on the child with her body trembling. She clenched her fists at her sides.
Amanda stifled harder ;
" Oh my God.….. Is it ok?"
" Shut up." Naarah let out without looking at her.
Aaron stared at the child, his gaze carrying mixed emotions. He clenched his jaw.
That was their baby. The baby he made with his princess was being pushed right in front of him. The baby survived but the mother was still in there. He flopped on the bench. His heart tightened as he watched the baby being pushed away. He couldn't watch anymore. He hugged his head with his masculine hands as he bowed them.
" Please, princess. I need you," he whispered under his breath.
Naarah looked at his cousin with tears in her eyes. She could feel his pain, however, there was nothing she could do or say. She knew he was changing for her friend but he kept making the same mistake. She glared at Amanda who was standing there. Useless. Her hatred intensified.
" Why are you still here?" she barked
Amanda lowered her head as she pulled back from the guards' grip.
"I'm leaving. Since I'm not welcome here," she said as she turned back to go.
She looked at Aaron for the last time before she left. Anger brewed in her.
" The baby survived," she muttered to herself.
She was trembling with rage. She had to do something. She had to make sure Mina didn't make it. She will deal with the baby later on, but her greatest threat was the mother. Amanda sneaked towards the nurse who pushed the baby. She had to use a different route and she had to act fast. She knew that anytime soon, Aaron was going to assign someone to the baby.
The nurse came out with her mask removed. A sigh escaped her lips. She cleaned the sweat that had formed on her head.
" I guess I'm staying overnight," she muttered to herself."
The nurse dragged her feet back to the ER, however, something felt off. Before she could put a finger on it, she was dragged into another room. She panicked, a lot had happened today and she had witnessed what wasn't meant to happen in a hospital. Before she could scream, her mouth was covered.
" Shut it," Amanda said
She rolled her eyes at her. She stared at her hand that was covering the nurse's mouth.
" Eww," she said pulling her hand away.
She wiped it before facing the nurse.
" Who are you?" the nurse asked.
" I am nobody, keep that in mind."
