Chapter 360: Distributing Devil Fruits (Part 3)

"It's alright. Zoan-type Devil Fruits are naturally wilder compared to the others.

Some Zoan users, unable to control their power, even lose their sense of self and turn into nothing more than beasts.

That's why you must double your efforts to train your willpower. Understand?"

Charlotte said, looking at Leonard's downcast expression.

"There's such a danger with Zoan Fruits— losing your mind?"

The kids all gasped when they heard Charlotte's words.

Charlotte shot them a glance.

"Don't look down on Zoans like that.

Only those with weak willpower lose themselves.

As long as you follow my training plans properly, you won't have that problem."

He said, not too kindly.

Though the kids were still at an age where playing came naturally,

Charlotte had assigned strict supervision.

If they failed their training, he personally dealt with them.

Under his guidance, each one of his children was far stronger than their peers.

Even seasoned pirates would easily fall victim to these kids if they underestimated them.

Charlotte even recalled an incident in the West Blue:

a pirate with a 30 million bounty was surrounded and worn down by a group of his children—

without Caesar or Esdeath needing to lift a hand.

Thus, Charlotte wasn't the least bit worried about his kids controlling their Zoan instincts.

"I will train harder, Dad!"

Leonard promised.

Charlotte nodded, satisfied.

Leonard was among the most obedient of his children.

He always completed his assignments without delay.

Not like Robert and Deidara, those two mischievous troublemakers always bouncing around.

Among Charlotte's kids:

the girls were mostly manageable thanks to Esdeath's watchful eye.

Though some weren't especially motivated, they still completed their tasks.

But the boys… oh, the boys were another story entirely.

First, there was Caesar—

his eldest son and the ringleader of laziness.

Then his younger brothers mimicked him without hesitation.

Caesar didn't even like playing;

he just loved sleeping.

Meanwhile, Robert, Deidara, Philip, and Trunks were pure chaos—

constantly running wild across the ship.

Often, they got so lost in play that they completely forgot their assignments.

For them, Charlotte didn't bother talking—

he simply resorted to using his belt.

Then there were kids like Tesla and Kakarot.

While they completed their assigned tasks,

their hearts were elsewhere.

Tesla, for example, had fallen in love with science,

often tinkering away with the ship's scientists.

Charlotte actually supported this—

especially after the scientists praised Tesla's academic talents.

As for Kakarot, he was obsessed with his Card-Card Fruit powers,

diligently experimenting with them, though it made his regular training suffer.

Of course, there were also model students like Logan and Gebeta,

who completed everything diligently and precisely.

They were rare sources of peace for Charlotte.

As for the messy room—

Charlotte simply instructed the maids to clean it up.

"Next— Hilda, come on up."

Charlotte called.

Hilda hesitated for a moment before jogging over.

She stared at the remaining eleven Devil Fruits, visibly struggling.

She didn't feel like any of them suited her.

"Dad... can I not pick one?

I don't think any of these fit me."

Hilda bit her finger nervously.

Charlotte blinked in surprise.

It was rare for a child to refuse a Devil Fruit.

He glanced over the remaining fruits—

and honestly, there weren't many ideal for a young girl.

"Of course.

If you ever change your mind, just tell me."

He said warmly.

Charlotte had long since stopped forcing Devil Fruits onto his kids.

Most already had enough strength to defend themselves.

No need to rush.

Relieved, Hilda nodded and stepped back.

"Alright, next— Sveifa, you're up.

And if you don't want a fruit either, that's fine."

Charlotte said.

Sveifa looked at the fruits, then shook her head.

"I won't eat a Devil Fruit either.

I want to focus on swordsmanship."

She declared.

"Good choice.

If you ever need help, you can ask your big sister.

Or me."

Charlotte nodded approvingly.

Esdeath smiled and waved at Sveifa.

Sveifa smiled back brightly.

"With that, the Devil Fruit distribution is finished.

From now on, focus on your training!

This ocean is dangerous.

Even I can't guarantee your safety forever.

You must become strong enough to protect yourselves!"

Charlotte said, his voice deep and solemn.

"Yes, Dad!"

Esdeath, Caesar, and the others all responded in unison.

They could sense something different in his tone today.

"Alright, off you go!

Train hard, and don't let me down."

Charlotte waved them off.

Then he carefully stored the remaining Devil Fruits.

The kids left the room one by one.

Meanwhile, Esdeath approached Sveifa.

"Sveifa, since you want to practice swordsmanship,

I have a few treasured swords in my collection.

Come pick one."

Esdeath said gently, patting Sveifa's head.

"Thank you, Sister!"

Sveifa nodded sweetly.

"And you too, Hilda— come along!

Learn some sword skills from me.

It'll help protect yourselves."

Esdeath said with a smile.

Hilda and Sveifa eagerly followed her.

At fifteen years old, Esdeath was already the oldest among Charlotte's children,

and held immense respect from her younger siblings—

second only to their parents.
