Chapter 359: Distributing Devil Fruits (Part 2)
Charlotte glanced over.
The Mirror-Mirror Fruit!
Another excellent strategic fruit!
"Alright. You can eat it."
Charlotte approved.
Slude carefully took the fruit and began eating it, bite by bite.
Her twisted expression said it all—
it tasted absolutely disgusting.
"Guhh!"
The moment she finished, Slude gagged, her little face scrunching up.
A maid quickly rushed over with a glass of milk.
Slude grabbed it desperately, took a sip, rinsed her mouth, and spat it out.
Only then did she feel a little better.
It was just too gross.
Seeing this, Charlotte pulled out a mirror and handed it to her.
"Slude, try using your ability."
He said gently.
Slude nodded, reached out and touched the mirror.
The surface of the mirror rippled like water under her touch,
as if her hand had melted into it.
"Dad!
It feels like I can enter the mirror!
And I can see outside from inside the mirror too!"
Slude said uncertainly.
Charlotte smiled and patted her head.
"Good job.
This is a powerful ability.
In the future, you must develop it well—
don't waste the potential of this Devil Fruit."
"Yes, Dad!
I'll definitely work hard to master it!"
Slude nodded firmly.
Charlotte smiled warmly.
Slude returned to her place among the children.
Next, Charlotte turned toward Skotty.
"Come on up, Skotty. Your turn."
He said.
Skotty had already been bouncing with excitement.
She practically sprinted over.
"Dad!"
"Mhm. Pick the one you want."
Charlotte waved his hand casually.
With two Devil Fruits already chosen, only thirteen remained.
Skotty scanned them all, then immediately locked onto the Paramecia types.
"Dad! I want this one— the Illusion-Illusion Fruit!"
She pointed eagerly.
Charlotte nodded approvingly.
Skotty gleefully grabbed the fruit and took a big bite.
This Illusion-Illusion Fruit had been one Charlotte obtained from the Treasure Cloud Mountain of the Happo Navy.
Honestly, he wasn't sure of the fruit's full potential.
On the surface, creating illusions didn't seem particularly fearsome in the pirate world—
especially when powerful Observation Haki could easily see through illusions.
Thus, it was a challenging fruit to fully exploit.
While Charlotte was deep in thought, Skotty had already finished eating.
But seeing her father seemingly dazed,
she decided to test her ability herself.
Skotty waved her right hand—
A figure identical to her appeared beside her.
"So cool!"
Robert shouted, his eyes sparkling.
Compared to his Gas-Gas Fruit,
Skotty's ability seemed way cooler!
Robert's shout snapped Charlotte out of his thoughts.
He looked carefully.
Although there were two Skottys standing side-by-side,
his Observation Haki immediately pointed out the real one—
the one on the left.
"Good.
But remember—
the real power of this Illusion Fruit isn't just simple clones.
You must work hard to develop deeper techniques.
Only then will you unlock its true strength."
Charlotte advised.
"No problem!
Dad, if I don't understand something in the future, can I come ask you?"
Skotty asked with shining eyes.
"Of course!
Not just you—
all of you.
If you don't understand something, come ask.
Or better yet, discuss and learn from each other."
Charlotte smiled at his children.
"Yes, Dad!"
Everyone answered in unison.
Happy, Skotty skipped back to the others.
Now it was Leonard's turn.
"Leonard, come pick yours."
Charlotte said, looking at his next son.
Leonard stepped forward calmly,
even though he was only five years old.
His gaze skipped past the Logia and Paramecia fruits,
landing directly on the Zoan fruits.
Charlotte noticed and raised an eyebrow.
Interesting…
Among his children, aside from Caesar and Logan,
almost none had chosen Zoan fruits.
Especially the girls—
they thought animal transformations were ugly and never even glanced at the Zoan fruits.
As a result, Zoan fruits tended to be neglected.
But now, Leonard showed genuine interest.
His gaze wandered between the Emperor Crocodile Fruit and the True Two-Toothed Pterosaur Fruit.
He hesitated.
The Emperor Crocodile meant tremendous strength,
while the Pterosaur offered the power of flight.
Both were appealing.
After a moment of silent deliberation,
Leonard made his decision.
He reached out and picked the True Two-Toothed Pterosaur Fruit.
"Dad, I want this one!"
Leonard said firmly.
Charlotte nodded with approval.
Leonard had made his choice because he realized—
among all his siblings, very few had flying abilities.
Only Caesar could truly soar through the sky.
Robert could only hover briefly at low altitudes.
The others couldn't fly at all.
If Leonard mastered flight,
he could become a major asset to his father and siblings!
Determined, Leonard bit into the fruit,
fighting through the nausea as he ate the entire thing.
When he finished,
he focused on his body's changes.
A slight thought—
Leonard's body began to expand rapidly.
His arms elongated,
huge wings unfurled—
a small pterosaur with a wingspan of ten meters appeared in front of everyone.
"So big!"
Slude exclaimed, covering her mouth in amazement.
Leonard's new form was about fifteen meters long,
with a massive, swishing tail nearly ten meters in length.
The ship's room instantly became chaotic as he thrashed around.
Charlotte sighed, rubbing his forehead.
He quickly pulled out a pair of sea prism stone handcuffs and clamped them onto Leonard.
Immediately, Leonard felt a wave of weakness.
He collapsed to the ground,
his body shrinking back into human form.
"Hold onto these.
If you lose control again, put them on.
And remember—
no beast transformations inside the ship.
Go to the deck for training!"
Charlotte instructed.
"I'm sorry, Dad!
I couldn't control it!"
Leonard lowered his head in shame.
After all, compared to his elder siblings who had perfect control over their powers,
he had made a mess.
