"Some hardship and trials..."
"Could you be a little more specific?"
Young Mirai asked eagerly.
As a transmigrator, he had always worried that he might meet some random, senseless death one night.
But now, seeing how powerful his future self had become, he finally felt at ease.
Still, he couldn't help but wonder—just what exactly was he going to experience in the future?
Naturally, Mirai had no intention of hiding anything from himself. He chuckled and began, "During the Third Great Ninja War, I became a hero of the ninja world. Later, I overthrew Uchiha Fugaku, and together with the other ninja clans of Konoha, I nailed Hiruzen Sarutobi, Danzo Shimura, Koharu Utatane, and Homura Mitokado onto the pillar of historical shame."
"I personally crushed all the ninja world's opposition and unified it under one banner."
"By now, I have enough power to face even Otsutsuki Shibai without fear."
"As for the part about having countless wives and endless riches, there's not much to say. Pretty much every named beauty from the original story has already become my woman."
"In short..." Uchiha Mirai concluded with a grin, "everything I wished for has come true."
Listening to his future self's description, Young Mirai's face lit up with excitement.
T-This...
This was the ultimate main character life!
After all these years of living in the shinobi world, this was the first time he genuinely felt his future looked bright!
Thinking of that, Young Mirai couldn't help but ask curiously, "How did you pull it off? Gaining that much power... it can't have been easy, right?"
Not to mention the schemers lurking in the shadows like Black Zetsu, Uchiha Madara, and Nagato—even just surviving under the watchful eyes of Hiruzen Sarutobi and his clique, who had ruled Konoha for decades, was no small feat.
So how had he done it?
Hearing his younger self's question, Uchiha Mirai lifted his head, gazing at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle.
"My success," he said solemnly, "was all thanks to hard work and sweat."
Young Mirai couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "Damn... so pretentious!"
Mirai, completely shameless, simply walked up to him.
"Alright," he said, "knowing too much might not be a good thing. I'm going to erase your memories of this encounter."
After several prior experiments, he had already confirmed that actions taken in the past could indeed affect the future timeline.
If it were trivial matters, he wouldn't care. But anything concerning himself—he refused to risk even the slightest chance of unexpected consequences.
Wiping out all traces of today's events was the safest move.
Their thoughts aligned perfectly. Young Mirai understood his concerns and could only sigh helplessly.
"Sigh... After you wipe my memories, I'll be back to worrying about everything again..."
Uchiha Mirai smiled lightly. "It won't last long. Don't worry."
With that, he activated his jutsu, and Young Mirai instantly collapsed to the ground, unconscious.Every memory related to today's events was completely erased from his mind.
After putting away all the treasures left behind by Otsutsuki Urashiki, Uchiha Mirai activated the "Karasuki" and vanished on the spot.
...
Moments later, Young Mirai slowly opened his eyes.
Scratching his head in confusion, he muttered, "Was training that exhausting? I actually fell asleep outside..."
"Oh well, better head back. It's so late, it's not exactly safe for a lone Uchiha to be wandering around."
"But I swear," he clenched his fists, "as a transmigrator, I'll carve out my own legend in this ninja world!"
...
In the original timeline.
Uchiha Mirai appeared directly at Orochimaru's laboratory.
"Orochimaru, I've brought you something good."
Hearing Mirai's voice, Orochimaru had no choice but to come out, bracing himself.
A forced smile stretched across his pale face.
"Mirai-kun, what have you brought me?"
Mirai handed over the rod, fishing line, fishing hook, and basket that Otsutsuki Urashiki had used.
"The rod, line, and hook can draw chakra out of an enemy's body, and the basket can amplify and release the collected chakra..."
After giving a brief explanation of the treasures' functions, he continued,
"Try studying these alongside the artifacts you got last time. See if you can figure out how they're made."
Orochimaru nodded immediately.
"Understood."
He had figured as much—Mirai never came just for a casual chat.
Seeing Orochimaru's eager expression, Mirai chuckled and pulled out a steaming clay pot from his subspace.
"Orochimaru, you've been working hard lately. I specially made some snake stew for you. Good for your health."
Orochimaru's eyes lit up, and genuine excitement spread across his face.
"Mirai-kun, thank you! I'll definitely give it my all to complete your assignments!"
Watching Orochimaru regain his energy, Mirai couldn't help but shake his head.
Whoever said Orochimaru was dark and gloomy?
This Orochimaru was practically radiant!
...
After leaving the lab, Mirai wandered casually through the streets of Konoha.
Suddenly, a beautiful figure appeared in front of him.
"Lord Mirai!"
Looking at the stunning woman before him, Uchiha Mirai smiled.
"Temari? What are you doing out here instead of minding your shop?"
Years ago, he had brought Temari back to Konoha, and she had stayed ever since.
After becoming his woman, she opened a fan shop. Although Mirai hadn't paid much attention, he knew business was always booming.
Temari had always been deeply dedicated to her shop. Why did she have time to come find him today?
Temari lifted her arms and showed him the bento box she was carrying.
"I made a lunchbox. Will you come eat with me at my shop?"
"Of course."
Mirai agreed immediately.
They chatted as they walked, and before long, they arrived at Temari's fan shop.
"This place looks great," Mirai said as he glanced around. "Business must be doing well."
Temari smiled warmly. "It's all thanks to you, Lord Mirai. If you hadn't saved us siblings from disaster back then, we never would've made it this far."
Seeing her sincere gaze, Mirai scratched his nose a little awkwardly.
Sure, saving them had been a good thing... but maybe it was better not to ask why they had needed saving in the first place.
Mirai sat down at the table and took a bite of the bento Temari had prepared.
"Mmm, tastes great."
"Didn't you make one for yourself?" he asked, noticing she wasn't eating.
Temari blushed and lowered her head shyly.
"Don't worry about me, Lord Mirai," she whispered. "I'll find something else to eat later."
Hiss—!
Uchiha Mirai sharply sucked in a breath.
Where were these little vixens learning these tricks!?
But he had to admit—the bento somehow tasted even better now.
