Fifi stood with her small fists clenched, sparks crackling around her soft paws.
Her breathing was fast. Her ears twitched, but her feet didn't move.
Fiona coughed behind her, still leaning against broken rubble.
"Fifi…" Fiona whispered. "You don't have to—"
"I want to," Fifi said.
Her voice was soft—but clear.
"I don't want to run anymore."
