William had a cloak on, trying to hide his face from the other people. That was just a facade. He didn't want to make it too apparent that he wasn't concerned about the mysterious killer anymore.
If that happened, then it would be impossible to draw the killer. He chose one of the two taverns in the whole town. The criteria for his choosing was the one who looked better.
The price was cheap, as expected of such a small town. William felt a little out of place. Everyone kept looking at him no matter where he went. He spoke with a man in the bar while getting some drinks.
"They are staring simply because this town doesn't get that many outsiders. It's rare, you know," a bald man said while drinking his beer at the bar's counter, "but don't worry about it. No one will do you any harm."
"Good to know," said William as he drank a beer too.
