"Sirus, let's go back."
Seeing a group of police cars speeding towards them from afar, Videl spoke.
"Oh? Don't you want to wait a little longer and ask those cops for a reward?"
"N-No, it's fine this time."
Yuujin teased, and Videl's cheeks flushed slightly.
In the past, due to her family's financial struggles, she would accept the rewards the police offered after helping them catch criminals. However, in front of Yuujin, she didn't want to do that.
Even though those rewards could reduce the number of part-time jobs she had to take, she didn't want Yuujin to think she was a greedy girl because of it.
"Alright, alright, I was just teasing you. Let's head back."
"Mm."
With the police approaching fast, Yuujin and Videl didn't linger any longer. The two of them took to the sky and quickly left the scene.
Above Orange Star City, Yuujin and Videl flew side by side, leaving rows of towering skyscrapers behind them.
"What a beautiful sunset."
Gazing at the distant sunset, Yuujin sighed in admiration.
"Yeah, it's really beautiful."
Videl brushed her windswept hair back and replied.
Come to think of it, with her daily routine filled with training, school, and part-time jobs, she hadn't taken the time to appreciate the world around her in a long time.
When did it all start?
When did her life begin to change, little by little?
She was doing even more than before, yet she no longer felt exhausted or irritated. Instead, she felt incredibly fulfilled—filled with hope.
If only things could stay like this forever, she thought.
But then—
"Videl, I might not be able to continue guiding your training anymore."
Yuujin's voice suddenly echoed in Videl's ears.
"You… You can't guide my training anymore?"
"Why? Sirus, did I do something wrong to make you upset?"
Stunned, Videl stopped midair, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Whoa, whoa, don't get so worked up. You haven't done anything wrong. It's just that Broly and the others have decided to leave."
"You're leaving?"
"I told you and Elisa before, didn't I? We were only here to experience a normal student's school life for a while."
"Even though this peaceful school life isn't bad, in the end, it just doesn't really suit us. So, we've decided to move on."
"I-I see…"
Hearing Yuujin's explanation, Videl felt dazed.
He had indeed told her before that they were only staying temporarily, but she never thought the day of their departure would come so soon.
"Sirus, you…"
Videl wanted to ask him to stay, but she couldn't think of a valid reason.
She had known from the start that Yuujin and his group weren't ordinary people.
Their origins were a mystery, and their power was beyond comprehension. How could a small school possibly contain them? Besides, it was obvious they were never really interested in school to begin with—it was just a temporary experience for them, like a vacation.
Yuujin was always going to leave. Videl knew that. She just hadn't wanted to think about it.
If she had accepted his feelings back then, maybe she could have selfishly asked him to stay. But she had already turned him down—what right did she have now?
Just because they were friends?
Just because she wanted him to keep training her?
That would be way too selfish.
She understood that. But still, the thought of Yuujin leaving, the thought of her life returning to how it used to be, made her feel unbearably empty.
"Y-Yeah… I guess normal school life really doesn't suit you guys. When are you leaving?"
She forced a smile and asked.
"Tomorrow or the day after. We'll also say goodbye to Elisa. After all, you two are the only friends we've made during this time at school."
Yuujin replied, but Videl felt a sourness in her heart.
If not for the dream she had been chasing all this time…
If not for her desire to change her and her father's life…
Maybe her relationship with Yuujin would have been more than just friendship.
But this was the choice she had made, and there was no turning back now.
"Oh, right. Before we leave, I want to visit your home, Videl."
"You want to visit my home?!"
Yuujin's words caught her off guard.
"Yeah, to be precise, I want to meet your father, Mr. Satan."
"N-No way!"
Yuujin nodded, but Videl immediately rejected the idea in a panic.
"What's wrong? You don't want us to visit?"
"No, it's not that…"
"Our house is really small and out of the way, and we don't have much to offer guests…"
Yuujin looked amused, while Videl hurriedly tried to explain.
Why was he suddenly talking about visiting her home? She wasn't prepared for this at all!
"Videl, do you think I care about those things?"
Yuujin placed his hands on her shoulders, looking straight into her eyes.
"But… but my dad doesn't really like visitors…"
Unable to meet Yuujin's gaze, Videl's voice grew quieter.
"Then that's even less of a problem."
"Relax, I'm just visiting, not causing trouble. Besides, I'm sure your father, Mr. Satan, will be happy to meet me."
Yuujin said with a grin, while Videl looked utterly helpless.
It didn't seem like she could refuse.
"F-Fine, when are you coming?"
"Why wait? Let's do it tonight."
"Even though Videl's house is small, remote, and doesn't have much to offer, I still hope you can prepare a big dinner for us."
"Oh, and by the way, we have pretty big appetites. So please, make plenty of food."
"Got it! I'll make sure there's enough food for everyone!"
Videl's face turned red with frustration at Yuujin's teasing, and she huffed in response.
That damn Sirus! Making it sound like I'm stingy or something!
Even if I have to spend all my savings, I'll make sure to give you guys a proper meal tonight!
"Hahaha… Then it's settled!"
"See you tonight, Videl."
