"Bandits ahead, drop your weapons and surrender immediately! Drop your weapons and surrender immediately!"
On a highway at the outskirts of the city, a police car was in pursuit of a group of robbers attempting to escape.
"Take out that police car behind us!"
"Yes, boss!"
The bandits were riding in two modified jeeps. Upon receiving their leader's order, one of them climbed out of the rear jeep and fired a burst of bullets at the pursuing police vehicle.
The police officers, shocked, had no choice but to swerve sharply to avoid the gunfire. As a result, the police car crashed into a roadside barrier with a loud boom, stalling the engine and rendering it incapable of further pursuit.
"Damn it!!!"
"The criminals are fleeing toward District Five! Requesting backup! Requesting backup!"
One officer slammed his fist on the steering wheel before quickly grabbing the radio to report to headquarters.
"Hahaha! Those cops really are useless!"
"With this money, we can enjoy ourselves for a long time!"
Having shaken off the police, the robbers in the jeeps burst into laughter, tossing their stolen cash into the air in celebration.
This heist had been a huge success—enough money to keep them living comfortably for quite a while.
"Boss, there's a girl up ahead!"
At that moment, the driver of the lead jeep shouted in alarm.
The bandit leader looked ahead, and sure enough, a girl stood in the middle of the road, blocking their path.
She appeared to be about sixteen or seventeen years old and was quite pretty. Under normal circumstances, the leader wouldn't have minded taking her captive for some fun. But right now, they hadn't completely escaped danger—there was no time for distractions.
"Don't stop! I'll take care of her!"
The bandit leader climbed out of the window, aiming his gun at the girl. He didn't know what kind of crazy idea was in her head, but if she dared to stand in their way, she was as good as dead!
His face twisted with sadistic glee, as if he could already see the girl screaming in agony, collapsing in a pool of blood, and then getting crushed under their wheels. Excited, he pulled the trigger.
Tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!!!!
Gunfire erupted as a hail of bullets shot toward the girl.
But in that instant, the girl—Videl—moved.
Her figure split into five identical copies, each dodging the incoming bullets while charging toward the criminals.
"What?!?!"
The bandit leader's eyes widened in shock. Was this… some kind of ninja clone technique from TV?!
He instantly realized that this girl was no ordinary person!
"Die!"
Panicked and enraged, the leader opened fire again, sweeping his gun across multiple copies of the girl. Several of them were hit—but they simply vanished into thin air.
Illusions!
Just as he was about to target the remaining figures, Videl had already reached their jeep. She leaped into the air, crashed through the windshield, and landed in the driver's seat.
The driver let out a miserable scream as he was knocked unconscious. The bandit leader, utterly shocked, turned to attack Videl, but before he could react, she delivered a powerful kick to his chest, sending him flying out of the vehicle.
Everything happened in a flash. The criminals sitting in the back seat barely had time to react before Videl swiftly took them down as well.
"Not good!"
With no one controlling it, the jeep swerved wildly, skidding and spinning out of control toward the roadside barriers. Videl's expression shifted slightly—she quickly leaped out of the window.
MOMENTS LATER…
The jeep crashed into the barrier with a deafening boom—and exploded!
Aside from the bandit leader Videl had kicked out earlier, the others inside likely didn't survive. A complicated emotion flickered in Videl's eyes.
She never intended to kill anyone, but these guys had brought their fate upon themselves.
However, now wasn't the time for reflection—the battle wasn't over yet!
"Who the hell is she?!"
"Our boss is down!"
"Run her over! Kill her!"
The bandits in the second vehicle, having witnessed the scene, were dumbstruck. The driver, in a crazed panic, slammed his foot on the gas, aiming to mow Videl down.
But she didn't move. Instead, as the vehicle charged at her—she threw a single punch.
BOOM!
The ground cracked beneath her fist, and the entire front of the jeep crumpled into scrap metal!
With a cold expression, Videl yanked open the door. The criminals, bloodied and terrified, scrambled out of the wreckage.
"We surrender! We surrender!"
Afraid that Videl would attack them again, they quickly threw up their hands in surrender.
They had once been a well-known gang in the underworld. But now, they had been utterly humiliated—defeated by a mere sixteen-year-old girl and forced to surrender.
But they had no choice. This girl was a monster!
Videl found them utterly detestable, but since they had surrendered, she didn't bother attacking further.
However—
"Die!!"
A voice filled with rage rang out.
The bandit leader, face contorted with malice, had managed to retrieve a gun. Without hesitation, he fired at Videl's back.
But before the bullets could reach her, Videl's figure suddenly vanished—only to reappear right in front of him.
"N-No way!"
A sharp pain exploded in his abdomen as Videl delivered a powerful punch. He staggered backward, then collapsed to the ground, completely unconscious.
"Hmph. Did you really think I'd fall for the same trick twice?"
Videl dusted off her hands with a cold snort.
Seeing their leader taken down, the remaining bandits trembled in fear, completely giving up any thought of resistance.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
A slow applause echoed through the air as a figure descended from the sky—Yuujin.
"Videl, your progress is remarkable."
Watching her easily subdue the criminals, Yuujin offered sincere praise.
"It's all thanks to your guidance, Sirus."
Videl shook her head, showing no signs of arrogance.
Her progress had indeed been rapid lately, but she knew it was all due to Yuujin's training. Without him, she would still struggle to use the Sky Dancing technique like before.
Yuujin, pleased with her performance, felt even more appreciative of her efforts.
Under his training, Videl had improved at an astonishing rate. To sharpen her combat skills, he continued to let her take on criminals as she used to.
Because of Videl, crime in Orange Star City was nearly extinct.
These criminals must have come from outside the city, completely unaware of the danger awaiting them. In the end, they were subdued by Videl—just their bad luck.
