The leader of the Salamence clan stood up straight, locking eyes with Dragonite.
"Roar!"
This champion-level Salamence directly questioned Dragonite about its presence here—especially since it had brought humans along.
Faced with its questioning, Dragonite remained as naive as ever. Scratching its head, it turned to look at Evan.
"Whoo~!!"
"I don't know, ask him instead."
Listening to the conversation between the two Pokémon, the corners of Evan's mouth twitched slightly.
Darn it, Dragonite. Just pushing him out like that?
Evan was truly speechless at Dragonite's actions. However, he didn't dwell on it too much. Instead, he jumped directly off Dragonite's back.
"Hello!"
At once, the eyes of numerous Salamence locked onto Evan.
The moment they saw him, a wave of unease swept through the group.
What the heck?
Is this a super-powerful beast?
The Psychic energy radiating from his body was terrifying!
Some Salamence even instinctively took a few steps back.
"A human?"
The Salamence leader eyed Evan with suspicion.
Is this guy really human?
Are we sure about that?
What kind of human is this scary?
"Uh-oh!"
"Hello, Salamence! Have you eaten yet?"
The moment Evan spoke, the atmosphere became oddly silent.
Claire, who stood behind him, couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Pfft... Wuwuwu~!"
She quickly covered her mouth, trying to suppress her laughter.
Even Sophia and Rosa couldn't hold back their giggles.
He sure knows how to start a conversation.
Salamence, on the other hand, was thoroughly confused.
What does eating have to do with anything?
There's definitely something wrong with this human.
"Roar~!*"
"Human! What are you doing here?"
It wasn't interested in small talk. What mattered was why this extremely dangerous human had appeared.
"Take it easy."
"Relax."
"We mean no harm."
"I just heard the sounds of battle and came to check it out."
"Are you competing?"
"Testing to see who's stronger?"
Evan looked toward the Salamence in the distance, which had momentarily halted their battle.
Even Dragon Rush was used just now.
So intense.
Are they trying to knock each other out?
"Roar~!!"
Salamence shook its head.
It wasn't a competition—just an internal conflict.
Silence followed.
"Alright then."
To be honest, Evan wasn't quite sure how to chat with these guys.
The championship-level Salamence gave Evan and his companions another look before finally settling its gaze on Dragonite.
After a brief moment of thought, it turned back to its clan.
"Roar~!"
Salamence let out a deep growl at Evan.
"Um?"
"What did you say?"
Evan was momentarily confused.
"Hoo~~!!"
"I'm not a Pokémon."
"I'm human."
Once Evan understood what the Salamence had said, he felt slightly exasperated.
Come on, he's really not a Pokémon.
"Roar?"
"Then why is your Psychic energy so strong?"
This was the thing Salamence found most puzzling.
How could a human possess such immense power?
Evan's Psychic abilities were so overwhelming that even it felt intimidated.
It was simply too strong.
"No choice."
"It's just natural."
"Being too strong isn't always a good thing, you know."
"Salamence, would you be interested in a chat?"
Evan had no intention of dwelling on the subject. Instead, he attempted to befriend the Salamence leader.
It seemed rather talkative, after all.
Hearing Evan's words, Salamence stared at him, a flicker of confusion in its eyes.
Chat?
About what?
However, after sensing the Psychic energy within Evan, Salamence seemed to have realized something. It appeared willing to talk—but somewhere else.
With that thought, Salamence turned its head and roared at the two Salamence who had stopped fighting, ordering them to cease immediately.
The two, though still irritated with each other, didn't dare to disobey. Since their leader had spoken, they had no choice but to comply.
After settling the matter, Salamence let out a low growl toward Evan before taking off, soaring toward a deeper part of the forest.
Upon seeing this, the other Salamence quickly followed, along with the Bagon and Shelgon. One after another, they all left the area.
Claire, noticing the sudden movement, quickly turned to Evan.
"Evan, what did it say?"
"Should we follow?"
She hesitated, unsure of what to do.
To be honest, seeing so many Salamence in one place was incredibly tempting.
No one would have imagined that a whole Salamence clan lived deep within the Heavenly Scourge Mountains. If word got out, people would go crazy trying to find this place.
Of course, actually reaching this location was another story entirely.
It was obvious that this group didn't reside here permanently. Instead, they lived even deeper within the mountains—an area far more dangerous.
The deeper you went, the greater the peril.
For an ordinary person, stepping foot here was a death sentence.
Even just the wild Pokémon encountered along the way could send shivers down one's spine.
Evan's Pikachu and Charizard might even have to battle in groups just to clear a path forward.
As much as it felt wrong, there wasn't much choice if they wanted to proceed.
"Follow them."
Evan nodded, then turned to Dragonite.
"Let's go."
With that, Dragonite swiftly took off, following the Salamence.
For over ten minutes, Evan and the others were carried through towering mountains and dense jungles.
Eventually, they arrived at a secluded valley nestled within a mountain peak.
A crystal-clear stream flowed from the valley, cascading down a waterfall into a massive lake.
It was clear—this was where the Salamence clan lived.
But they weren't alone.
As Evan and his group looked around, they spotted several other Pokémon inhabiting the valley.
Druddigon roamed among the rocks, while Axew, Swablu, and Noibat flitted about. There were also unevolved Swablu and Noibat still gnawing on fruit, yet to become Altaria or Noivern.
Evan's eyes widened at the sight before him.
"So many Dragon-type Pokémon!"
No matter where he looked, dragons were everywhere!
Could this be the legendary Dragon Valley?
For a brief moment, he was overwhelmed by awe.
However, aside from the Salamence clan, there weren't many other pseudo-legendary Dragon-types here.
Instead, the valley was home to Druddigon, Axew, Swablu, Noibat, and their evolved forms—Haxorus, Altaria, Noivern, and Flygon.
But one Pokémon, in particular, caught Evan's attention—Appletun.
Its presence made Evan take a second glance.
Because the materials it produced were exactly what he needed.
If he had to leave this place, he absolutely had to take them with him.
The only question was—would they allow it?
"Hoo~!"
Salamence let out a loud cry, its roar echoing through the valley.
In response, several Pokémon near the waterfall turned to look in their direction.
Without hesitation, Salamence soared straight into the waterfall.
Clearly, there was something hidden within.
A different world lay beyond.
